There should not be any rattling when driving normally but at slow speeds there is a lot of noise when you depress the clutch and release the drive. That noise is normal (although it sounds like it's about to fall apart).

Maybe find some guys in your area with a 6mt and see what their opinion is on it. Otherwise you can always take to the dealer if it's really concerning you.

does the actual shifter rattle or is it just a sound you hear. I have a rattle from 1-2 but i only hear it when cruising around and only when depressing the clutch

I think I know where the noise is coming from...If I press or realease the clutch while changing gears; specially from 1rst to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, it rattles...

that is normal?

My friend was outside of the car and he could hear the rattle or noise...

Have you read the manual? The noise is detailed in it.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Well they'd love to
But you have tp allow that they have a lag
So it takes them a few seconds before they can respond
By which time us 6MT people have long since gone

Normal... nothing to worry about. definitely one of those quirks the M3 comes with

Just give a little gas when depressing clutch quickly, doesn't rattle, and you get this strange wonderful sound from the front.
