Rear seat and trunk storage delete with groceries?

My e92 is my daily and I'm thinking of doing a rear seat delete and removing the cover and items in the trunk but that leaves the electronic box uncovered in the trunk. Anybody dd with the trunk stripped? Is it easy to put bags in the trunk without harming the electronics or where the rear seats were?

You can do it, mine wasn't dd but drove it some with stuff in the trunk. Watch yourself, its a slippery slope. Once its stripped you will be putting in cage, and leaving on track wheels and tires, race pads and such. . Next thing you know you need a tow vehicle and your balls deep.

I'm trying to avoid that slope! I know once I start I'll have it turned into a dedicated track car before I know it. I gotta keep calm and hopefully if I move to Germany within the next few years that the autobahn and occasional days at the ring will satisfy my needs. I can see the track-shaped slope I'm headed down I just don't know if I can avoid it.

Maybe I'll set some limits for myself like non-warranty voiding mods only (since my 335 warranty was voided and that's wasn't fun) or only a certain amount of track days per season. I can maintain a balance...

Your bargaining with yourself. Not a good sign. Its like gambling, if you have a problem limits don't help because you find ways to justify anything.

I'll keep the crack and set my gf up as a hooker to fund my future addictions. It's a win win.

my rear is stripped. I keep the trunk carpet in and use a bungee cord on the two flip down anchor spots to prevent cargo from flying into the main cabin.

I may want to do this too. How much weight is saved removing the back seats again? I read it a couple times but I cant remember...like 40lbs?

OP, I think maybe rig up some kind of cargo net to quarantine the bags, something temporary... or just put them shotgun

I think if I remember right you can get about 100lbs out. Pulling seat backs, seat bottom, headrests, trunk carpet, mat underneath, tool kit/immobility kit, covers for battery and amp...

The cargo net is a good idea and I guess I could put the hard cover back in to protect that electronic box once a week when I go to get groceries or supplies. It's nice to know others are doing the same.

If you do all this, won't it upset the weight distribution?

It's like 60 pounds from the rear so I'll remove my subwoofers which are really heavy or something else from the front to even things out.

I hope going to Germany works for you. I lived there for nearly 14 years and miss it every day. I'm fortunate that I'm a pilot and go frequently to Europe, but even with that, avocationally, I still go back every three or for months to see friends and banzai the autobahns.

Not only is the Nordschleife open to you, but the Hockenheim Ring also offers track days. Enjoy.

my the rear section of my daily driver is stripped too, I usually bring a foldable box bag for groceries and all is fine.

For anyone else with nearly stripped cars, what weight did you strip from the front section of the car? Other then the standard door cards, trim, roof panel.
