Going to place order tomorrow
That didn't take long...lol
Well, I decided, after about a year of kicking the idea around in my head, to sell the GT3 and get something more "practical". So, after reading up on the spy reports, the reviews, etc, etc, on the E92 for about a year, I am going to pull the trigger. Here is what I plan to order tomorrow. E90 M3 sedan Silverstone II Black Nov Leather (no extended) Tech package M-DCT Enhanced Audio Side and rear blinds (got a kid ya know) Split Fold Down rear seats (Loved this on my 95 M3) iPod adapter and I damn well better get my ///M floormats for free too! lol They have a March build open, but I am going for April as I want the M-DCT (for several reasons...blah blah). Got her for MSRP, which aint bad considering the newness factor. Going in tomorrow to place a deposit and get her on order, but it sounds like a done deal. Hell, even the wife said she was cool with it, which almost made me cry.....I was touched. LOL. More details to follow....I am being emailed a spec sheet, etc. If it is anything different from what I have seen here, I will post it. Anybody want to buy a GT3??? :-)

My understanding is that sedan will not be available with DCT until June?
SSII/black is a killer combo. With black interior, I would consider extended leather. |

Its just that life changes, and thus, needs. I find myself rarely driving the GT3 anymore for several reasons...the biggest being that it is simply not pratical for my lifestyle anymore. I need more room. The GT3 is only a two seater. If you are lucky, you can cram three grocery bags in the "trunk". It rides like a track car, because it is! It is SUPER sensitive to any variations. If a tire is down 2psi from the others, you KNOW it. It goes out of alignment easily as it is a track car. Potholes wreak havoc on it! In a nutshell, it is a track car and I do not have much time for the track now days. One and two years ago, I did, but times change. I was seriously considering selling it about a year ago, but because of comment like yours from all my friends, I decided to hang onto it and see if I could make it work....but it simply does not anymore. So....now that the new M3 is out, and being as I owned two others (E36's), I know they are great cars. Right now, it is the best fit for me from any make, so I am buying one and not looking back. The E90 M3 will be a killer car, and I am going to build my own to boot. So what the hell. If I don't like it (doubtful), I can always sell her and go from there I guess. But I don't think that will be an issue!

One other thing. On the interior trim, I was considering the Aluminum, but I dunno. I think the plain crap looks decent too. Hell, I dunno! lol I wish there were some too look at NOW. Oh well, like you said, there may be some to look at before the order is locked....I hope so.

Im doing thru the same thing
Ive owned a 2004 996 for 4 years and have a e46 m3 which is coming off lease. Bmw is offering incentives until end of month to blow out inventory so a m5 right now is 1250 a month for 24 months and I know if i pull the trigger on a m3 sedan the lease is gonna be 900-1100 a month. I figured Id sell the 911 if i got the m5 but maybe keep it with the m3. But like with 2 kids my opportunities to drive it are like 1 every 2-3 weeks So its just a trophy in my garage. who knows I cant decide Mike |

AFA the DCT issue, that is what he told me...that he asked the rep the other day and he told him the supply issue would be rectified by the end on March, so April builds with DCT would be ok. Wonder about the backlog of March builds that spec'ed DCT though??? You would think this would push back the April builds a bit. Time will tell. i will grill him somemore tomorrow when I go order it and let you know.

Congrats, sounds like a sweet car!
I'd order something similiar if I could justify using an M3 as my daily driver. Unfortunately I have a looong commute now on LA's crappiest freeways so I passed on my M3 allocation. Had my deposit down almost 3 years ago but like you said -- life changes! At least I married well. We have a 997 GT3 among others I'm sure you will really enjoy the car. Congrats again and welcome to the board!
