I can vouch for M3FREAK, really exotic sound. Not very raspy, more V8 rumble to me. I enjoyed it a lot when I drove it for him to hear it from the outside! I didn't mind the sound either when I heard it from the outside.

There haven't been any complaints of the brands mentioned, so I too would get the cheapest ones. As mentioned, as long as the flanges are properly welded on, there shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, that is what I said, quality should be the primary concern, not cost

If you have stock exhaust you will not hear much difference from idle or while coasting at a constant speed. However, when you hit the gas you will hear a louder roar. Not sure if that's just the monster from under the hood. It's just the way I like it though. I'll record it tomorrow from the rear for you.

Here's a better video of the car at idle and a few revs.

Just to throw in another potential option.

I was perusing through Supersprint's website last night and it looks like they'll be developing their own set of test pipes!

Looks like a good option for the Supersprint fans...haha.

A set of test pipes does not require much development. It is just a straight pipe bent at the end and fitted with a flange and a couple of 02 bungs. None of them are going to make any more power or any different sound than the others.

Can anyone say how much the install cost?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Has anyone reverse engineered the Akra Delete R and attempted to install their own DIY version? I'm guessing its just a few resistors in there, surely not worth the $300 they charge for it...

I thought the Akra was more complex than this but I have not seen one in person. The BMS DP fix on the other hand seems to be pretty simple.

Thanks, at $95 this seems much more reasonable. Now I need to pull out those cats!

I wonder where I could get test pipes installed in MA area. I called up Turners and they won't install them. Damn laws!

Anyone knows where I could get them installed? Doesn't seem like a DIY sort of thing.

maybe try with an independent muffler shop that is local? with instructions it shouldnt be a problem for a muffler shop, or any shop that can cut. Other than cutting the only labor needed is unbolting and bolting on the pipes and OEM x-pipe.
