Jet black with OEM 18s
Hi all final specced my car yesterday for delivery middle of March. I went for Jet Black with the standard OEM 18s. From what I have read on this forum not many others are going for this combo. I Have seen jerez in the metal a few times and it is not black, they should have called it jerez blue. I would have preferred a metallic black like sapphire but not available.
Here are the pics that keeps me going until delivery day! And finally thanks to everyone this forum is great, I have learnt so much more than from my stupid dealer. |

Welcome
Great first post. I know there is a shortage of Jet Black photos. I'm a fan of the 19" wheels but I think this is the best picture I have seen of the 18" wheels, and I think they really go with Jet Black. This website has a few people who are great with info and really know their stuff. Southlight, myself, etc. You'll soon work out who they are. There are an awful lot of tools though, and people who are a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Have a look at this site which is 95% UK orientated, and the vast majority of members are pretty decent. www.m-torque.co.uk |

Thanks for the welcome! I should have been more clear but the pics are actually jerez... Based on this pic and others I have gone with jet black and the 18". I do wonder sometimes if I have made the right choice on the wheels? If only BMW made this design in 19" then my decision would be as clear as day and night, but now hmmmmmm.......... Ah well at least I can always upgrade! Can anyone tell me if the springs are the same for cars with 18" and 19"? Would I need to change the springs if I decide to upgrade to OEM 19"?

I think the 18s look pretty nice. The tire width is the same as the 19s. My 1,200 will be going towards aftermarket.

It would be nice if the wheels on the M3 concept were a option...

no - fact: all cars get dirt the same regardless of color. actually white shows DIRT the worst. if you want a perfect mirror finish paint job all the time, black is the hardest as dark colors show swirls, dust and other paint imperfections more. the metallic blacks may hide some of the dust but I had a cosmos e36 and a jet black e46 and I think the effort is the same. I garage the car and have covered parking at work so I dont mind. even if my car was another "easier" color I would still be obsessed with keeping it clean. btw overall Space gray is probably the easiest. IMO

Now I see, you have resorted to the passive aggressive cheap shot mentality, nice strategy. Can I help you spell fools? You spelled it right, when you used it on me the last time. Just remember this little rule: it starts with an f as in fat rather than a t as in tall. A word to the wise: To place yourself at the level of South in regards to people "who are great with info and really know their stuff" is an affront to anyones intelligence except of course your own. Keep up the good work. You make BMW enthusiast the world over proud to be associated with you and you articulate social graces, thorough BMW knowledge base, and of course your maturity level. |

Its a good job we are all different as I would actually pay extra to have the 18" design so I'm very happy they come as standard as the 19" do nothing for me.....
