Can't really complain about price if you are going to put a check mark on all the options IMO. Kind of the way it is I guess, unless you go American like Corvettes and Mustangs. A Porsche Cayman S starts at $64k. I built one with a few options I'd want and ended up with a high $70s car.... that will be worth half of that in 5 years.

Redux-wow well you are completing a perfect car in my view-the 1m with an s65 is awesome and to me is the epitomy of a street and track car.
I do a lot of track days and I am not saying money is no issue in my life but cost is not an issue in terms of I can afford to thrash the e90. I am just average and enjoy improving but I really enjoy the e92 m3 around the track. I like 420 hp for the straights vs a Miata that I agree is more pure but lacks some of the motorsport aural experience of a high revving v8. To me I go for the fun like you mention. I screaming v8 is a level of a fun. I have a blast and I have a blast everyday driving it as despite others saying its not practical, I am quite easily able to rev the car around on the freeways and city etc. Coupled with catless exhaust sound its music to my ears. So I think part of the problem is we all measure what a "good" track car means and maybe that is the breakdown and the start of argument. To me it means a car that is a heck of a lot of fun, certainly capable and makes for an overall experience that leaves me feeling better than anything else at the end of the day. I also personaly like the look of the m3 and to me it gives me excitement each day as I drive a lot for work. So maybe I am not normal but to me it really works well. I think the m3 has always been designed that way and to me so is the 1M (even better with an s65 swap!) so all I am saying is for the average guy going out just for fun and to improve on his own times, the 1m and m3 to me really fit the bill. I am not training for any competitive stuff etc and don't worry if my technique is not going to ever be perfect. Clearly I have gotten off track but I guess I am just an oddball as I feel there is something special about taking a pretty neat engineering feat-the s65, maximizing its output in NA form and enjoying the heck out of it for what it is. I did the same on my prior M54 and N52 engine cars. But that is just me. Love to hear more about your s65 project. Seems like a pretty easy swap frankly given the tranny is probably the same 6 speed and this thing would be amazing. 3300 pounds with s65. Sweet. I completely agree though, especially on the freeway, unless you are above 6k rpm, the m3 does bog down and I guess I love the sound so much at high rpm it seems to be no problem for me to live up in that range |

(1) Buy the $13K Harrop kit (2) Swap your depreciated $25K M3 for an $85K F80 turbo M3 from your local dealer for a cool -$60K hit on your wallet. If money is no object choice (2) is the right one but for those less-fortunate among us choice (1) may be just fine. |

Thank god someone said it. All this marketing crap people are fed is ridiculous. If you want FI then do it, if you dont then just be quiet. When this kit does come out we'll see how it sells. All this talk about "its no good for this platform" or "they're late to the game and its too expensive" is unsubstantiated. Let it come out then be the judge. Meanwhile sit back and enjoy the development phase this company is willing to share with us. Not many do and we can all certainly learn something new. |

I have spoken to Heath, GM at Harrop, and will be first in line to test this on my car. I will be sending it down to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia where Harrop is located.
Also here's an article from European Car Magazine:

Indeed.
So tell us all Matthew - how did it go? Do you think that they will eventually make a very high quality product? Also, what did you find bad about it if anything? And, how much boost was it running? Thanks very much!

Oh yes I realise this. I was the one the posted the article of Matthew's car if you see. What I mean is that once the final production solution is ready - I will be the first in line.

When can we get a peek at the torque curve? I hope it looks close to this: 900nm should be adequate.

Well, I'm going to buy it.
For me in Australia: 2007 E92 M3 - 80,000 kilometers = $68,000 AUD (purchased in April 2013) New 2013 E92 M3 = $180,000 AUD New 2014 M4 Coupe = $180,000+ AUD So for me, $13K for something around 50% more power and torque is good value. Also, this solution has the potential to be superior to centrifugal kits on the market, vortech based especially, as it can deliver substantial torque gains over stock from idle. I've personally not yet driven an vortech M3, however I have heard reports from owners that low end torque is down over stock and throttle response is down too. My workshop whom are G-Power agents tell me that their kits deliver torque gains lower in the rev range than vortech based kits. According to BMW, 66,000 E9x M3s were produced world wide. Let's guess that one percent install a supercharger kit per year: 1% x 66 000 E9x M3s = 660 Average price of supercharger kit = $10,000 Total E9x M3 Supercharger Kit Market Size Annually = $6.6 million And obviously there are existing e9x M3 supercharger kit producers so there evidently is a market.

Hi Matt
Can you give us a short summary of your experience with the kit on your car?
