Temporary paint protection for ED?

Hey everyone.
I am taking delivery of an AW E92 M3 from the Welt in late May and I will have a family vacation in Switzerland for a couple of weeks. Any suggestions to temporarily protect the front end of the car during my trip? I will have a full 3M clear bra installed once the car arrives in the US, but want to make sure the hood and front bumper don't get damaged while driving it in Europe. Thanks!!

Well, the way I see it is, you have two options.

Why dont you get the 3M Clear Bra installed while in Europe?

-OR-

Do what others have done, put the blue painters tape all over your front end if your THAT worried

ha! two quick replies from fellow Canadians! I am from Vancouver, just working in SF! Yeah thought about the painter's tape, but it's so unsightly.... I might get white racer's tapes instead.

Just report any stone chips or any damage when you drop-off your car to be shipped back home. The insurance will take care of it. I did ED last year and they fixed the stone chips I reported/noted on the inspection report.

This isn't fraud? Who's insurance?

or you can use the same vinyl wrap they use to make stickers/decals the same way you would use painters tape. that way you can match your AW without the blue nose syndrome

this was my plan when i drove home from las vegas, but i was too lazy and too cheap to buy the vinyl, plus i forgot to order it to come in time for my delivery.

Im doing ED in a few months, and I am going to take a kit with me, slap it on and have it redone when I get back. I got a few HUGE chips on the S5 last fall...Not gonna repeat that mistake.

OG_M3, could you tell me where I can get the vinyl wrap you are referring to?

Don't worry about the car (I know it was hard) and just enjoy your trip. As i said, the car is covered 100% with no deductible and it is legit. They fixed mine and detailed when I picked the car from the dealer. More European people acknowledge the new M3 than people here in the States. It will look strange for them to see blue tape or similar on a new M3.

Would the paint be fully cured to put blue tape on or would it not matter?

Thanks!! I appreciate your input, valeram. Yeah, the blue tape thingy looks pretty tacky and unsightly. Thanks to OG_M3, I might consider the following just in case:

http://www.transportwrap.com/wrap.html

or

http://www.beacongraphics.com/supplies/3m/3m-7125.html

Thanks OG_M3 for the help!!
