Heavy tire wear on inner shoulder of right side tires after track day

Hey guys,

I just took my track tires off after a track day last week and noticed that there is a lot of wear on the inner shoulder of my right side front and back tires. I was at Shannonville, for those that might be reading from Ontario who might be familiar with the circuit.

For those who aren't, Shannonville is a very technical track with a lot of turns in a clockwise direction.

Can anyone offer any ideas as to why I'm suffering such heavy wear? I am trying to imagine the physics required to cause such wear but I am at a loss. There wasn't nearly as much wear on the outer shoulder of my left side tires.

Shannonville is really abrasive which really accelerates any tire wear that you would normally see at any day.My inside of both inside tires at a right turn biased track tends to wear on my car as well and at least with a square setup I can rotate the tires to help equalize the wear on all the tires.

What tires are you running?

I'm running Hankook RS3s. 265f 285r on Advan RS 18x9.5f 18x10r.

What camber are you running?When we were racing 20 years ago we used to run different cambers at each wheel in order to get proper tire temps at each corner depending on the track.At Mosport for example we used to run 3-3.1/4 LF 2-21/4 RF and about 2.5 on the rear.With the hard spec tire we ran a 24 hour on 5 tires total.

I can't remember the specs exactly but when I had my alignment done, I had it done primarily for a street setup. So, I think I am -1.9 front R and L and -1.3 in the rear. Very conservative for the track, I know, but, I don't track enough to warrant a more aggressive setup.

I am still running on stock specs for alignment as I refuse to compromise the good manners that the car has on the street for tire wear on the track.This present 2011 with the ZCP is much easier on tires than my 08 with the base suspension ever was.
