Steering Wheel Buttons - Do you hate them?
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one that hates buttons on the steering wheel. I often miss my '05 ZCP M3 with one button "M". I just loved the simplicity of it and I was never hitting buttons by accident. I sometimes randomly hear "system off" - no idea how it happens
So I'm thinking of buying another steering wheel trim piece and modifying it to have only this button - does anyone think this is a terrible idea? |

My DD is a Yukon Denali with steering wheel buttons also so I sometimes mix the two up because they have different functions and locations between my two main vehicles, but I still think the steering wheel buttons are great.
I just wish the M3 had a MDM 1 and 2 button/function like the M5 and 6. |

I miss that the channel selector and volume control are on opposite sides. They were on he same side on my e46.

"Hate" is a strong word. I use them fairly often and think it's a happy medium between a button-less wheel, and the new M5/M6 which have a zillion buttons and look busy.

Crazy talk man! I love steering wheel buttons. Easy to
Memorize so I can change radio stations or volume without taking my eyes off the road. I surmise that's why they put them there in the first place, so that you don't have to divert your eyes from driving to perform common adjustments (like radio volume) while driving. Oh well, just my thoughts... |

I like buttons. There may be or two too many on the steering wheel, but for sure the M button, Volume +and - I use, as well as the phone button (to quickly hang up when I'm done).

They are not large and tacky like in some American made cars. Looks cool, easy to use, effective, what's not to love? |

Hmm, that IS true. I guess I occasionally use the phone button for that, as well. M button, volume, up/down all get used, and if I ever get around to installing front and rear cameras, the source selection button will get used too. I guess that just leaves the useless voice control. It would be great to wire that button to be a mute button for the radar detector.
