Replacement Brembo Rotors?

What's the best place to call for best pricing on replacement rotors for the Brembo 380 kit? Front rotors only and aiming for slotted.

Thanks

Are you looking for the entire rotor or just the rings?

To be honest I wasn't aware we could change just the rings.

Lets go with just the rings. What would be a good supplier that won't charge BmW tax.

Zeckhausen or Raceshopper?

I would recommend talking to David at Zeck before buying stop tech replacement rotors.

We found out that they would not work for my kit.

This was one of his responses. David really know his stuff...like crazy knowledgeable.

Actually, I'm back to thinking those StopTech rotors will NOT work on your front kit. There are two monobloc 6-piston Brembo styles. One calls for pads with a 49mm radial depth. The specs on your kit call for pads with a 58mm radial depth. Since the StopTech 380x32mm AeroRotor has a maximum pad annulus of 51mm, that means it's got too small a swept area for the Brembo pads.

This is all assuming, of course, that your kit calls for Brembo pads of part number 07.9551.13. By any chance, do you know the Brembo pad part number for your kit?

If your pads are really XA5.71.M2, then the StopTech rotors SHOULD work after all.

Did Brembo actually sell 2 different sizes for the North American market on the GT kits? Ill have to check. All I know is that my pads were Ferodo DS2500's.

Rest ill have to check

If i knew for a fact that stoptech rotors would work, I'd replace mine with those immediately and get new Ferodo pads.

All you have to do is check your part number for the Brembo kit that you have.

If it starts with 1M1.xxxx then you have the European version using M calipers and 380x32mm rotors which should allow you to use the stoptech replacement rings

If your part no starts with 1N1.xxxx then that is the standard US version using N calipers and 380x34mm rotors. Stoptech does not make replacement rings in this size.

I have the 1M1.xxxx version and have the stoptech rings on order. I will post updates once my parts get here but I do not expect that to be for another 2 weeks at least.

US and Euro spec rotors are interchangeable.
It is only important to change the complete rotor with bell/hat.
Also the Euro spec rotors use smaller pads, so the complete Euro kit is about 5 lbs lighter per corner ;-) I used already US spec rotors as well as Euro spec rotors, also OEM GTS rotors and now finally Type 3 rotors. All works with the same caliper.

As far as I know, for 380 mm front GT kit, Brembo has only sold the N caliper with 380x34 mm rotor in the USA for E9X M3.

Kit number 1NX.9003A, where X is 1 for drilled, 2 for slotted.

The annulus for the brake rotor is 62 mm (aka radial depth).

I would also recommend changing out the mounting hardware when you change the discs.

Let me know if you need help sourcing them.

PS. Here are the pad shapes for Brembo N (top) and StopTech ST-60 (bottom). Clearly different as David mentioned.
