E90 vinyl wrapped carbon roof.... lame idea?

I am thinking about getting my roof carbon vinly wrapped and wanted to get some feedback on whether people think it would look cool or trashy. My buddy has an e92 with the carbon fiber roof and everytime I see it it makes me a little jealous that I couldn't get it on my sedan. Obviously it won't serve any other purpose than looking like the carbon fiber roof but I still think for the looks alone it might be worth it.

You could just buy the CF E90 roof from IND, but it is kind of expensive. The CF vinyl wrap might look a little tacky, since it's a "knock off" CF roof. Best bet is to get it wrapped in matte black vinyl. That won't be as tacky since you're not trying to imitate the CF roof. But frankly, who are we to judge you? It's your car, go do what ever the hell you want to it! Just no flames please...

Yeah, $1500 is just a little more than I want to spend on a roof right now, plus I'm thinking installation isn't cheap. Maybe I will just put the idea on hold for now and maybe pull the trigger on the IND roof next year.

Best idea! Then you'll be one of the few people in the US (and maybe even the world) who have an authentic E90 CF roof

I say if you want to do it then do it and don't worry what other people think. I think a black roof looks good whether is painted, wrapped or OEM CF.

It's no more/less poser-ish than the CF roundels, heavy wheels, diffusers or front lips that people put on their cars so don't worry about it.

Do whatcha like!!!

I think wrapping it in gloss black would be good enough.

I say do it if you like the way it looks. I don't think it looks bad. Who cares if it's a "335 thing"? If it's something you like, that's all that matters.

Forsure don't wrap it in CF, it will look lame. +1 for buying the CF roof. or get the roof wrapped in matte black. Or go all out and get the full car wrapped in a matte grey

Personally I'd either drop the cash for an IND cf top or nothing

I had it before. I liked it for a while but couldn't handle the fact that I riced out my M. So took them off.

you can see pictures here:

If you really want to do it, do it just gloss black, not fake C/F vinyl.
