Price check for coil replacement

My 2008 e92 recently had its throttle actuators and idle control device replaced but according to my dealer (shelly) its still misfiring. Couple days later he calls and says one of my coils are bad and wants to charge $560+tax to have one coil replaced. Is that price even within reasonable range for a dealership???

I honestly don't see how that can be reasonable. I just bought 2 coil packs for $70 each. It took literally 15min to replace both.

Ask them for a breakdown of the price. Even if it's two hours of labor @ $150/hr (high for a dealership), that still means the coil is $260.

They are about $70-$80 a piece, so to replace all 8 parts wise would be 550-650. Not really a labor intensive job so I would say that quote is a bit pricey.

Time for a new dealer or an indy shop (if your selection of dealerships isn't available).
