AiB vs LUX

I have the AiB's on backorder, but the wait is killing me. Also, after reading about some of the burnout issues and the fact that the LUX's are cheaper, im considering a switch...thoughts?

If you were still in the Seattle area, you could compare both in person. Johnny Lin has the LUX and I have the AiB. For those out there that *are* local and would like to see them side by side just send me a PM and I'll try to arrange something with Johnny.

Functionally they seem to be about the same. But I personally prefer the AiBs just for the ease of installation -- no need to cut holes in your light housing cover and run wires around the engine compartment -- they install completely inside the light housing. In the end (once installed) I'm sure you'll be extremely happy with either product.

Regarding the overheating issues with the AiB ballasts; I received an email message today from Tom@eas saying that AiB has identified this problem and is sending "heavy duty" replacement ballasts to all current customers. I suspect that could be a factor in the recent delays in AiB order fulfillment but that's purely my own guess.

Cheers,
Ted

one word of advice: If you are going with LUX, or an HID kit, be sure to hide the wires EXTREMELY well- after my recent dealer visit for warranty work, they were tearing my car apart looking for spliced wires, or any kind of electrical item that they could place blame on to get out of doing warranty work on the car.

If your dealer made a fuss over extra wiring going to *light bulbs* then you need to find a new dealer bro...

I know you guys have a great product that stays in the headlight housing. And from all the threads about it, it seems to be selling really well. Is this underhanded slandering really necessary? Sigh...

I didnt mean to slander, not at all, I am just giving my feedback on my personal experience with the dealer (Crevier BMW) and the things they try to do to get out of doing warranty work, take it for what its worth.

They did not, because I do not have any wires running to the headlights, but they were searching for this kind of thing until they saw that the angel eyes were just a bulb swap

Thats pretty weird for a dealer to go through all that trouble just cause u have different halos. My dealer dosnt care what i have done. Ull b surprised how far $20 goes at every visit. Plus they absolutely love what I have done with my car haha. Either way, i tried the AiB and ran into that overheating issue which blew out something in my headlight. Got it fixed by the dealer which is why im trying out the lux kit now. Heard nothing but great things about it.
