SILVERSTONE's LUX H8 Review and DIY

I got my set of LUX H8 Angel Eyes. Since i have been reading a lot about good and bad upgrades regarding angel eyes. i thought i would give a review from my own experience.

I took product photos in my studio to show the quality of manufacturing and finish of the LUX H8, Later on i took some photos during installation.

From these profuct shots you will see that the finish on the Alluminum Base is very neat compared to other after market upgrades. I was very satisfied with how the build and assembly quality was. The LEDs seem to be fixed tight and that made me very comfortable during installation that im not handling a fragile product.

Also i would like to add that the wiring was very near and not bulty at all. And the fact that its Plug and Play with no Error codes made it even better.

During the installation there were a few tricky parts. I will make sure to point them out in either the photos or video.

The first Unit took me about 20min to install because, not because it was hard to install but because i didnt notice that the teeth locks on the alumimum base werent all the same. they were three different sizes. i will explain in detail below. The second one took me 5-10min to install after i undertood the trick.

LUX H8 gives a nice white white with a hint of blue. I'm very picky when it comes to mods and all i can say is that the hint of blue i not the kind of blue that would make your car look cheap. It makes it look new and fresh just like the new 5 series GT's Eyes. It actually makes the new Angel Eyes on the 5 Series GT look outdated.

All in all i was completely satisfied with the product and the result. its a simple upgrade that makes the car looks 100% better IMO. if anyone has any doubts about LUX H8s. you simply shouldnt.

Enjoy

let me know what you think.

MC

Product Photos:

( the mittle part of the Aluminum base has three turbine shaped teeth, Notice that each one is a different size, during installalion please make sure you have all of them aligned correcty with the same size inside the headunit. )

Great write up. Sharp pics. I'm itching to get the H8's and this will be quite helpful.
Comparision with OEM pics are cool. Thanks for all the effort.

Nice write up. Only if it was a few days earlier I wouldn't have had to go through so much head scratching and cussing. I still got it done and very happy with the results.
One of the best inexpensive mods on my car so far IMO.

Excellent video, pics and description. You should post this in the DIY section.

This pretty much sold me on the LUX H8.

Cheers.

Great writeup The pictures show the superiority of the LUX H8's over OEM, but pictures just don't do the LUX's justice. They look so much better in person, as I'm sure the OP can attest to.

Thats very true...the pictures don't do justice. I will take close to real life ones once this our sandy weather clears up. Each time i take some now they are a bit brown/yellowish.

What i love about the LUX H8's is that they give a bit more power output than OEM in terms of brightness. Enough to make it sharp and crisp without making people think "oh my god look at what he's done to his Bimmer...he doesn't deserve one"

Will post some proper photos soon...

I just installed mine, using your installation DIY. It was PERFECT.

I do have pretty small hands, but this helped immensely!!

Both sides done in 15 minutes - probably less, as I couldn't find my shop light

THANKS!!!!!
