Another DCT SW thread:

Its weird. Help. I get my car in November. Car drives perfectly. I dont notice any lag in 2nd at low rpm's while i get back on it. I dont stall at all. Downshifting response is quick. (all this is S3 mode). Get my car back from the dealer today after 1200 miles service and recall.. First thing i notice, the 2nd gear lag, second thing i notice, when i downshift around 4k rpm in third to second, it take couple seconds to rev match, then lets the car goo. Im looking at the invoice paper with all the work stated, mind you they didnt change the transmission oil, as it states, bmw has a lifetime transmission oil, and they did not change micro filter.. But im looking at the recall section, and i cant seem to figure out waht update number i have. the only numbers i see are "1120 sib sib 28 06 08 Recall on vehicle to reprogram DCT has been performed, defect code 00 28 00 01 00. Labor operation 00 58 032 (16FRU) reprogram and recode conrtol unit including CAS. 6129 W94 0.16 Does anyone know wth this means and if i could ask them to reflash my SW to original?

I don't think they can...all we hope for at this point is a new software that fixes the problem. I wrote a certified letter to BMW last week...

Just had my recall service performed last week, and noticed a marked improvement in shifting at low speeds, and definitely cornering. There was a time I'd try to accelerate out of a corner when in one of the D-modes, and would get nothing! Now it hunkers down and gives me the power I need. I'm happy with the software update.

Had my 1200 service + recall

SIB 28-06-08 program M DCT trans
Program and encode complete vehicle, including CAS, via program CD 31.2

Shifts in S mode are now instantaneous.

Haven't payed attention to D modes yet (90% drive is on S mode, D only when distracting myself deciphering iDrive )

Air filter and microfilter where not changed, nor was the transmission oil (only engine oil and rear differential)

Very happy so far with the transmission behavior, as it was inexcusable how slow and delayed the shifts were before.

after driving sometime with the software update i have to admit i feel the lag in 3rd and second sometimes, from pressing the accelerator till the car goes there is a huge delay ... and its annoying as hell, yes shifting is instant now and down shifting not an issue under hard braking ... but this lag is really annoying ... they fix a few things and introduce another problem ... dont they test the cars ???? does not seem like it ...

+2

i noticed them, too

but i think with a higher level (S4,S5,S6) it gets better, and it only occures at the downshift in the S-modes.(difficult to figure that out in D-mode...)
