being asian, i think the parents are probably at fault here. asian parents always give cars, electronics, toys, etc as incentives to do well in school (first hand experience). i bet the girl did everything the mom wanted and then the mom just backed out last minute and said that she's not going to buy the car for the kid.

She wasn't asking the mother to pay for the car. She was merely asking the mom to Co-sign. The mother is only responsible if the daughter falls behind on payments. Without making too large of an assumption, this girl was obviously very responsible. Enough to be an honor student, cross country runner, and probably have a job in order to put money towards a car like that.

Mother deserved a pistol whipping in my book. You don't put the carrot in front of the horse unless you plan on giving the carrot to the horse.

Plus the girl is very resourceful as well. If she can track down a stolen police officer's gun to finalize a loan, she can definitely figure out a way to keep up with the payments. This is actually a good lesson for today's youth to think outside the box when working towards your goals in life.
