Ok then you put a few thousand in an m3 and then this moded s4 is done. then what??? you guys are like little pups barking at the big dogs trying to prove something... and its all good until the big dog beats down hard and eventually kills it.. stock for stock m3 on top all day.. if u want to compare a modded s4 then compare it to a modded m3 and lets see how that plays...

I'm pretty sure M3 owners don't buy the car for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. For that kind of money you can get cars that are much faster.

If that was the case M3 owners would actually be driving 328i coupes with the sports package. That car has the purest engine (inline 6), perfect balance, and is a pleasure to drive especially with a 6MT. Yeah you don't get the V8 exhaust note but for the 25-30K you would save you could put in an amazing exhaust and buy a ducati 996 for your speed desires.

Speed is definitely a major reason why M3 owners buy there cars. Read the other threads on this forum!!!!!

You speak as though straight line speed is the only reason people buy performance cars.

Great BMW fanboi response.
My weekend driver happens to be a Porsche and i've owned not one but two BMWs in the past. But I guess I know nothing about handling.

I'm actually a real car enthusiast. Not a little bit$% whose father bought him a BMW because he his little pumpkin needed it to get a prom date. Get a life

Some people have no sense of humor.

But seriously, how does driving an old 911 cab make you any more of a "real car enthusiast" than anyone?
The fact that you owned 2 BMW's in the past means you know something special about a cars handling?
Or maybe the fact that you own an Audi and (over defensively) troll M3 forums makes you a "real car enthusiast".

This site really needs another Audi owning self proclaimed "real car enthusiast", because lately we've been lacking in that department.

oh yeah I see your point, m3 is 20-30k more in canada. wtf BMW.
you can get a fully load m3 for 60k in US, 90+k in canada. totally retarded IMO.

I agree, if you buy new, s4 is a viable option. but i still want to shoot for the m3 as it just feel more special for me. wallet gonna take a big hit though. LOL

Yeah my porsche is 6 years old and yes I absolutely love it. I bought in new in 2004 and its probably the best material purchase I've ever made. But where's your porsche?

I'm currently in the act of getting married but once were settled I'll be in the market for used F430 for my weekend toy. 6MT will be a given since real car enthusiasts drive manuals. Advskier, just from seeing some or you past threads I get the feeling your the worst type of BMW fanboi, one that doesn't even know what a clutch is.

I've now owned 5 German cars, one of each of the four major brands. All have been a blast to drive. I'm on this forum as a car guy not an audi guy. If the M3 was awd i'd be using it as a daily driver. But I don't think a RWD 414 hp car would do the trick when I have some hemorrhaging to death in the middle of the night and there's fresh snow and sleet on the ground.

Furthermore my grandfather was in the car business and I grew up around cars. Unlike you, I know what I'm doing in a garage. I actually can do my own car work. I doubt you can.

Finally, Advisker as a former and future BMW owner, your the type of person most BMW fans cringe at when they meet. Your the guy who walks up to the owner of turbo blown gallardo and say decent ride but you've got nothing on my stock M3. Your just down right pathetic and truly not a car guy unlike the majority of people on e90post.com. I refuse to deal with you

I am really impressed you bought a new Porsche, and you know how to work a clutch. Since most m3's are sold with DCT, I guess most owners can't possibly be "real enthusisasts", like you. And you managed to "subtly" toss in the fact you are a doctor. Not to be rude, but are you marrying a woman or another guy?

So the fact that grandpa was in the car business equates to you being somehow "closer to cars" than the rest of us? That's pretty funny. When I was young, I went outside my house and there was a car there. My family wasn't in the car business, but they let me get close to it, and even ride in it. When we parked it there typically were other cars all around it. What an amazing deal. I guess that made me close to cars too!

You make quite a few assumptions about a guy you've never met. No need to talk about the various cars I've owned, or experience in the garage. Kind of like comparing the size of your dick...... and since you drive the Porsche I seriously doubt you could win that competition.

You just continue to prove my point. And yes i've never met you but your comments prove that your definitely the type of person that I'm happy will never be in my life. I just don't associate with people like you. And if I remember correctly in the past your the fanboi who has even gotten on current BMW owners nerves. People just don't like you.

Your a class act all the way!!!

If anyone would like to have a friendly conversation regarding cars of all types I'll always be happy to chime in. And furthermore i mean no disrespect to anyone other then Advskier on this thread. The point I was making before that child got involved was that IMHO straight line acceleration is important when considering a sports car, just as is handling and the overall package.

And I showed that the M3 e90 based on track times and acceleration is the probably the best sports sedan around. I absolutely love the car. Sorry if anyone misinterpreted my intentions and points. I have to say though that for everyday drivability I love my S4.

I think you just proved my point. The reason Audi limits boost above 5000 RPM is because roots type blowers are generally not built for high RPM applications... It's a protective measure. 7200 RPM is relatively high for a roots blower.

Here's the link to when I picked up my e92 back in 07. I have pictures of my 911 on it. Unfortunately the G in the pictures is gone That car was actually a blast to drive.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=68488&page=2

And the DCT is a great transmission. I've actually driven it before. It just doesn't have the feel of a MT.

I wasn't asking for pictures of your Porsche. I was talking about your comment about you having a Porsche, where's mine.

I've owned a 1960 convertible, late 1960's 911, new (in the '80's) 911SC, and new 911 RS America.
I'm not so egotistical as to think that owning a Porsche made me any more a "real car enthusiast", than some one without the means to own any car, but who lusts after one.

Since when does ownership of a car equate to anything other than financial means, doctor???
But I'm sure when you buy your used 430 you'll be larger than life.

You're right we should just get rid of the M3 Vs forums completely because the M3 has ZERO competition!

I guess it's ok to be compared by car mags to the Ford Mustang GT 5.0 but the S4 is below us... LOL

No offense Nals, but damn! for a doctor you sure have a quick heated temper. And the way you easily enumerate your toys, you seem very practiced at it. I wish I "got's mines', like you do. Hey, for kicks can I have your address, I would love to come up and see your toys and F430 when you get it. I would also really like to see you donning all your "blings" doc, and just to let you know, I would really be impressed it you were kind enough to have your diamond encrusted grill on. Man! Would that beat all. I can't wait! Hey can you make sure to fill up your wallet with a fat wad of Benjamens'? Man, hat would be really cool?

All jest aside, if you thought the responses to you were rediculous, yours took the cake Doc.

Much respect to the S4! I've seen a lot in the parking lot where I work and never really figured out why they were so popular. I definitely see why there are so many fans around here now.

Also, I don't know why everyone needs to hate on each other in this thread. We all love and appreciate high performance cars that are styled like an art piece (at least in our eyes).

How about we hate on the people that can't appreciate anything past a mini-van like a lady I work with who trashes even the thought of a sports car and anyone "idiotic enough" to drive one. Every time the car subject comes up she has to bash me for my cars...
