Stock for stock, I think I prefer the f430 sound over the 360. With an aftermarket exhaust though, I'll take the 360. 355 sounds the best though.

Like i said it depends on the exhaust set up.

This 360 sounds nothing like the 1 on the first page.

Typically haters that cant see past anything but what ever current high horse they are on.

I am glad Ive had the chance to taste the best of both worlds.

How am I a hater?

I own a 2010 Si sedan.
I own a 2004 STi.
I own a 1991 348tb.
My older brother owns a 360 Modena.

I can tell you that my Si sounds nothing like either of the F-cars, and both the 348 and 360 sound faaaar more exotic than my STi.

I don't understand how you can think a 2.0L inline 4 with VTEC sounds ANYTHING like a 3.6L V8 with a cross plane crankshaft. I doubt you'll find another soul (except maybe another Honda fanboy) that would agree with you.

I suppose, however, that everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how outlandish or plain wrong it is.

Here's my brother's Civic doing a tunnel run! Listen to that VTEC!

By the way, a Challenge Stradale sounds even more exotic than just a 360 Modena.

I like the F1 transmission in the F cars a lot. Especially the once in the CS and the Scuderia. Honestly they shift pretty fast and if the car's accelerating under full throttle it kicks you in the back after every shift..I like this.

lol nice try
As I said earlier.. Any modern ferrari V8 with a Capristo exhaust sounds like a F1 car. Just epic! Definitely not even close to a Civic no matter what exhaust it's equipped with.

OP, sorry if we are going a little off topic here but I have to post this.. F355 with Capristo fly by. In my opinion this is the best sounding road car ever made.

Had an encounter one sunday morning w/ a 360 on the freeway from a transition ramp, we both gunned it (him a little before me), soon I was pulling on him and passed...pretty similar to result as the vid, was from ~50-90 mph then we both let off (and he also gave me a wave!). I also have light mods and MT. Another time was against a 430 and were dead even from 60-100 mph before we let off, but I'm convinced he wasn't revving all the way to redline, whereas I was max..so hard to tell in these situations.

THe gear ratios are almost identical for each gear (different FD and gear ratios but combine to equal the same). The 360 is a lot lighter as well. Shows you a DCT is good for about 30 hp equivelent to a manual non-dct car.

Also a 360 is older and surely is not putting out its full power so probably down 20 hp over new. So essentially a 50 hp advantage for the m3 taking into account the dct factor

I think the 355 sounds the best too, but I think I prefer it with a tubi exhaust. Both the 360 and 355 seem to be more high pitched than a 430.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Probably cause of their smaller engines - 3.5L and 3.6L.

^I was curious so checked and part of it has to do with the 5 valves per cylinder of the 355/360 vs 4 valve per cylinder for the 430 among other things.

Well it's either that, or the vetch kicking in like the other poster has explained.

B series.

K is a diff monster.

I would take a Ferrari over a Civic SI any day of course but like i said with the right exhaust and the 8K + redline i found similarities.

A stock M3 DCT should be just as fast as a regular 360 and the CS version should be slightly quicker. It's hard to tell if the CS was going all out or just running it easy in this video. Without a proper "3-honk" start, I just see 2 cars cruising on the streets.
