Cutting Ti exhaust tips ... ?/Advice

I'm running a E92 Ericcson exhaust on my E90 and the tips stick out a lot (3-4 inches) ... I thought it would only be 1-2 inches and that I could make up some of the size with a diffuser but Ericcson tips are even longer ...

Should I cut them down and if so how?

Should I leave it a slap a diffuser on?

Should I cut and slap on a diffuser?

They didn't have a specific E90 version of the exhaust? For that kind of cash sticking out 3-4 inches seems pretty unacceptable.

Only E92 ... So the system I have was made for a E92. I knew the tips would stick out but I didnt realize it would stick out this much

Don't fuck with it. Too expensive to butcher it. Rather sell it and go Akra Ti for E90?

my advice would be this:

Here we would take the exhaust off, and cut a section out before the tip, then reweld the titanium exhaust. This way you wont harm the tips and any non-oem looking welds wouldnt be seen. Do you have anyone in HI that can do this for you?

I know a few shop that can weld but the Ericcson welds are so nice ... I ordered a diffuser so I hope that helps.

Honestly, I think you are better off modifying the exhaust hangers in order to set the exhaust back a little bit. Maybe you will have enough clearance to do so, maybe you won't.
Good luck!

I thought of that but its the pipes out to the tips that are to long ... I'll see how it looks with the diffuser first.

Let me know how it looks with the diffuser, It be a pita to bring the tig welder over there on the plane.. But if you can get a tig welder and a lift id be more then happy to play with the car and then go for a test drive to makes sure the welds are solid!... WOT test is the only way to test!

Leave it alone for a while, maybe you'll get used to it. Better yet, post some pics so we can see how bad/ or not bad it looks... after you get the diffuser on.

BTW, from where did you order your VT1?
