Lux H8 V3 Backorder

Hey everyone...

Just trying to gauge how many of us on here are waiting on their angel eyes to come off of backorder from Lux.

I have only been waiting for about 3 weeks but I have seen some waiting longer from Lux's Facebook site.

Hoping they their production issues get worked out so we can get these in. Right now there isn't a current ship date as the last one was June 25th.

If there are any Lux vendors here...have there been any recent updates?

Thanks.

Decided in Feb/Mar to get the 5000k but they werent available. Finally gave up waiting for those last month and decided to get the 6500k but they were on back order also... Still waiting...

Their FB page says week of 9 July should start seeing 6500k shipments and 2-3months for the 5000k to start shipping.

I managed to get my hands on a used set of V3 and put them on my wifes X5. The upgrade is fantastic! Looks completely OEM and makes the front of the car, which I blacked out, look so much better it's ridiculous... Seriously good product. Thats why I keep waiting... lol!

have you pm'd LuxAngelEyes directly? marc is usually very good at responding to pm's. Might be busy, IIRC he might be located near the recent storm areas in the US so that might play a part in slow responses...

good luck...btw: VERY happy with my Lux's...

Yea I struggle to understand why LUX is always back-ordered..plenty of demand and no supply is not really a good business model

They definitly need to expand their production capabilities

From their product description:

"The LUX H8 V3 uses a unique power supply that is over 98% efficiency and does not need a heat sink for cooling since it produces no heat."

How exactly does any light source, let alone LEDs, produce no heat?

the base itself i think is the heat sink, but i'm no engineer...but even on the lux site it states to allow the bulb bases/heat sinks to cool before handling as they are hot after use....

that being said I've had my lux v3 kit since they were first out, a little over 18 months or so...I checked periodically for melting/component wear and tear and haven't noticed any....I've read of other LED AE kits that haven't been as fortunate and have had instances of component melting...

i do remember a thread regarding bulb temp between led v hid, v halogen that measured and compared temps for each type of bulb..in fact it might have been eas or alpine that did the comparison...hmmm...IIRC led's did run the "coolest" of the 3 but still did produce heat...

products are on order and IIRC marc is the only guy that actually puts them together...it's not some big business assembly line kind of operation marc is running...

be patient..they are worth the wait IMO..

I waited about 3 weeks for mine as it was a pre order for actual v3 release...

I have mine already..I just think there comes a time when a business needs to expand..they clearly have back-logs which can potentially kill a business..especially with increased competition

I appreciate the offer, but I have already paid Lux for these. I'll keep you in mind of someone doesn't pick them up when you're ready to sell.

HOPEFULLY the Lux's will come off of backorder soon and I won't have to ask for a refund in order to get yours.

If it is more than a couple weeks longer I'll PM Marc. They have been keeping the website and their Facebook page (sort of) updated. Although there is no update of shipment since they extended their June 25 ship date.

true, only possible competition is AiB...orion rings are a different animal...but perhaps an assessment of Lux's ordering of parts and production could happen, considering the demand vs supply...

Hi All,
Just wanted to let everyone know about the updated here. We orignally had a shipping date of 6/25 however we received the lights but found there was a QA Problem with them. We decided it was best to have them fixed rather then ship out a possibly defective light and that was the cause of the delay

We will now be getting parts in early next week and will start processing all orders. We have been working very hard to get these back in stock and apologize to everyone for the delay in these.

Also as people said earlier, we are in the process of expanding and that is also contributing to the slight delay we are experiencing. Changing business processes is not always 100% perfect at first

Likely, this is the picture you were referring to:

Also dont forget that the LED lights will increase temperature over time since they are using passive cooling. They will reach a maximum temperature and that is based upon their surroundings. When they are sealed inside a headlight on a hot day they will run very hot.

Cool. Interested in a pair of these. If I order a set, will my c c be charged ASAP or will it be charged upon actual ship date?
