I think the C63 is a great car although I have yet to see one in person. Those who are talking about ordering one may want to make sure that the AMG Performance package is included (did not see it on the option lists at the beginning of this thread). It adds $3900 to this package (making final list close to $70K) and includes a limited slip differential, upgraded brakes, and a better suspension. In the reviews and comparisons of the C63 AMG with the M3, this package was included. But I am not sure how many cars that dealers have already ordered actually have it. Otherwise, you may regret that you did not get a M3! The C63 without these upgrades will be extremely limited, especially with this much power on tap.
In regards to actual numbers, most BMW owners, especially those who track their cars, don't cross-shop Mercedes. Honestly, I see BMWs at the track all the time along with corvettes, nissans, etc. But I have seen only 2 Mercedes, a beautiful CLK Black series and a SL600 (had to sit out 1/2 the day because the brakes overheated-not really intended for the track)....but that's it. All of the people I know who own Mercedes cars are looking for cruisers, GTs. So, I am not surprised that there are so few C63s in stock. It just isn't worth it for most Mercedes dealerships...it's not their typical client...on the other hand, C300s and C350s are as ubiquitous as most 3-series cars. It is hard to put a value on a warranty that includes all maintenance. This is a great value to BMW owners and one of the many reasons I am returning to the fold! |

^^got to admit, especially with these cars, the included maintenance is a big reason why I chose the m3 as well. 150 dollar oil changes and 1k brake jobs gets old quick LOL

From my experience:
For BMW's "The suspension must be faster than the engine" For Merc's The more power, the less control.

that generalization still applies, but it's only about 10% as significant as it used to be. the gaps narrowed. a lot.

Hm...well that sucks. There are two MB dealerships around my area with 6-7 C63s and 2-3 C63s in the other sitting on the lots.....waiting for some buyers. Most of them are silver, white, and black..i think they are the only colors too....haven't really seen on in red or other colors like that.
I have to say that the C63 looks and sounds like one hell of a beast.

1. C63 lease rates are much higher then the M3’s 2. No free maintenance with the C63 3. No special APR or balloon payment finance options like BMW offers for the M3 4. Majority MB dealers are not giving away the cars at invoice or $500 over invoice let alone below invoice unlike some deals I read forum members have received. (Again I am not denying people aren’t getting nice discounts on a C63 but surely if you took a look on this forum and the MB forums you will see M3 buyers are getting more of a discount off MSRP generally) Aside from the people who go in the backyard and pick off $100 bills from their money tree; money is one of the determining factors when cross shopping these cars. Given the state of this economy I’m sure money is becoming the biggest factor now and that’s why C63’s are starting to accumulate on dealer’s lots. However, one advantage is that since the C63 is more expensive to purchase/operate (already on my second set of rear tires at 8,500 miles) and is being produce in smaller numbers when compared to the M3, the car will be more exclusive (not like a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo of course) which certain buyers like myself enjoy. |

Ever wonder which cars get the most tickets. Check out this link:
http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...r-a-cop-magnet Not at all what I would have thought. But it appears C63 AMGs get quite a few....statistically, given that there are not that many on the road to begin with, this would have to mean that virtually every owner of this car gets at least 1 ticket! Could this be correct? I notice there are no BMWs on this top 10 list. |

That's the CLK63 and CLS63, not the C63. And it's fitting that two 63's made the list. The roar of the exhaust and thrust of the engine in the 63's encourages hooliganism. I love driving a hooligan's car.

Since that list is compiled for insurance purposes, I think its safe to say that its based on the ratio of tickets given for how many of that make/model are on the road. There is no way a specialty car like a CLS63 is going to have more total tickets than Suburbans. It has to be relative.

Congratulations, you have completely exposed yourself to this whole forum by showing you don’t have the basic ability to read and digest information. If you go back to my original post #125, where does it say anywhere that I have driven any type of Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Lambo??? I HIGHLY suggest as a means to spare yourself any further embarrassment you reread my post and reply back with a claim that you misinterpreted what you read originally.
