JL Motoring Carbon Fiber Durability?

Hi guys, so I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on some CF parts and had some questions. For those who've bought JL Motoring CF parts, have they held up over time? Any issues?

I've scraped my stock bumper once or twice, so I really don't want to get the high dollar stuff and then destroy it on a pot hole.

At the risk of sounding like an asshole: if you are having scraping problems on a stock bumper, why would you install something that only reduces ground clearance further? Crazy lips/front spoilers just don't seem practical on daily drivers.

+1 ^ this. I would personally save the the $$ or go with something, like you stated JL Motoring piece. What would you consider a good amount of time before replacement? A year/two/ three.. etc.. These pieces aren't necessarily made for a lifetime use especially if you scrape 1 or 2 times a week.

i have had JL lip for 7 years.. Probably shouldve replaced it a couple years back but had other priorities and it wasnt too badly mangled... Either way the weave is definitely not as nice as other top brands and fitment was just a bit off but mine has been beaten to death and I dont care because it was cheap.. I actually have another one (different design) sitting in my house to replace this one when I get a respray.

I spend $$ on things like my bbk, coilovers, even nice wheels but refuse to spend alot on carbon that will get beat on esp because I like a really aggressive drop.

Maybe I should have clarified, I'm not asking if the parts will take a beating, I'm wondering if the parts will bubble, yellow, or delaminate over time? If they deteriorate after a year or two, I'd rather not even bother and just get namebrand instead from the start.

Got it, no it hasn't done any of the things you said. Other than the cracks and rock chips it looks like when I bought it. Though my car has been garaged its whole life so dont know how it would be if I parked in the sun all the time as the clearcoat seems a bit thin in some areas.

I have a JL Motoring CF trunk - over time it has bubbled noticeably. I've had it repainted 2x and still keeps coming through. The fitment was decent- but cf quality is pretty bad.

For a lip, if the price and fitment are good, I may not worry so much but def think again for a trunk.
