Safe lift points on E92 M3

Anybody know of and have any pictures of the safe lift points on the rear of an E92 M3? I'm not talking about the square plastic pieces just fore of the rear wheels. I'm asking about the rear lift points to be able to jack the rear up so that I can place jack stands under the aforementioned square plastic pieces. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Don't ever lift the car by the rear differential.

I haven't looked under my e90 yet, but my old e46 had a support arc just in front of the diff that was a good jack point.

No center jack point in the E9x M3, only at the front...

OK, I'm more confused than when I first posted

So the guy who posted the rear diff was being sarcastic, or the guy who said no way! was being sarcastic? In either case, does anybody have a definitive answer?

Jack one side at a time using the rear pads on each side & place a jack stand under where the control arm mounts to the suspension carrier; repeat. Better yet, get a set of ramps designed for low clearance if you want to lift the rear.

sorry if i sound like a dummy, but what is this? is this the bottom of the control arm?

i use rear dif... absolutely nothing wrong with that...

I didn't say to jack on the suspension. Use the jack pads. Okay to place stands under the suspension CARRIER where the trailing arms attach--that's a reinforced area.

There are jacking points behind the front wheels & in front of the rear wheels, rubber bumps that hang slightly below the sideskirt. Wanting to jack up both rear wheels, the differential is fine to lift from.

Problem with the rear diff is most jacks wont fit under to lift, unless you drive up on blocks. Also, not sure I'd lift on the cooling fins.

The diff has long been used as a lift point on BMWs--the only thing that makes me nervous on the E90 version is that the aluminum fins on the bottom are more pronounced and look somewhat fragile. I choose to avoid any non-warranty breakage and lift one side at a time; it's not much more work.

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up jacking the car up on the rear diff. I made sure to put a pad (literally used a small paper note pad) between the hydraulic jack and the rear diff so as not to cause any uneven pressure points between the cooling fins, and to even out the weight. It worked out fine.

There also is a solid area (I think it's part of the frame) just ahead of the rear diff that could theoretically be used as a lift point. However, it's pretty mipossible to get a hydraulic jack under there, it's too far in. Or you could get the jack under there, but wouldn't be able to pump the handle (not with my budget Sears jack anyway). If you care to read my experience and review of the Borla it's here, post #112

I've lifted mine on the body of the differential housing rather than under the fins. I used a block of wood on the jack and lifted ahead of the fins and it worked out just fine.
