If u look closely at the pics, the car appears to have a rusty hub issue on the right rear, but not in the photo of the left front. Seems strange, especially since the car has only 2,000 miles (and mostly spring/summer miles??). The rust is rather ugly. Can the inside of the hub be painted or perhaps covered in a black grease?

Hub rust is an odd thing - I always wonder why they don't use stainless steel. I wondered about the side differences as well but my previous car was pretty similar. I'm planning on wire brushing the hubs and then either using caliper paint on them, or some grease. Longer term, i'm actually working on developing an adapter to the TE37SL that will accept Volk center caps.

hub rust is normal on all bmw cars... if you want to reduce the rusting, you can use a fine grit sandpaper and sand off the rust then either use some spray paint to paint the hub or use some grease or anti-seize to cover and seal the hub.

the car only has rust on one side because its relatively new. as you wash it or drive it in the rain, you'll end up getting rust on all 4 corner.

Nice do you have any more pics of the whole car. I am thinking of also getting 18's but not sure how it would look.

Like other's have said, it's pretty normal and it's worse in the back due to the parking brake drum.

I wondered the same thing about stainless steal or just painting it.
I used engine paint after a wire brush followed with grease. Seems to be ok so far.
