Gonna sell, help me price it...
Too many cars means I need to sell some. Although the E90 is my baby, it's one to go. I've got way too much money into the car and so coming up with a price is difficult.

it is going to be hard to sell your car locally because of california smog. you're better off parting out the supercharger and xpipe at the very least. great mods for someone in AZ (no smog) to buy as-is. i would maybe market it a bit out there.
as for price, i'm somewhat guessing, but maybe low $40k's?

Agreed.
I think the forum reaches a national audience and so when I list, I'll list it with the current mods and give potential buyers an option to purchase the car in stock form at a lower cost. I'll sell it in CA with a current smog check but every following two year check is responsibility of the owner. Thanks for the pricing input! |

I saw a few other supercharged E90s on Autotrader in the mid to high 40s, but they were 2011s. I think roastbeef isn't too far off, but I would really recommend you consider out of state buyers since CA smog is such a hassle.

For me, yes. Just about everyone thinks I'm mental but here is why I kept E90 over GT3:
I like to drive fast, very fast, but only get to 4-5 track days per year. I'm really competitive and push myself and the car when I'm on the track. Only being able to practice once every three months means that I don't get the seat time I need to really be able to understand and work the GT3's limits. The E90, being front engine rear drive, is more natural feeling to me and the chassis is more neutral. When I overdo it in a corner or brake too late in the E90, I can control the car and keep from stuffing it into the wall. The GT3 is definitely a more raw track day special and that engine shriek at redline is intoxicating. It is a real driver's car and I can say that I'm just not a good enough driver to really be able to push the car how I want to. If you want one car to do it all; daily drive and occasional track day, the M3 is by far the choice. GT3 just can't come close to M3 on the street. If you're spending more than 5 days a year on track, you would want the GT3. I've owned 996 and 997.1 models and both are just so raw and awesome. Since selling the GT3, I have swapped my Ohlins with Moton remote reservoir D/A suspension, added Stoptech BBK, Recaro seats, track-only wheels and NT-01, and AKG short throw shifter. The E90 really performs well and is a monster. I've modded the car to the limit of street car tolerance where the next steps would really take away from being able to comfortably drive on the street. But since I've personalized so many aspects of the car, I really feel connected to it like it's my own creation. I've decided to keep it as a street car since it does such a great job taking me to work and throwing the kids in the back when we want a fun grocery trip! I've been lucky enough to own and still own many dream cars. Through them all, I have learned that I really love to drive BMW's, especially older ones. I'm in the beginning process of selling all of my fun cars (except E90) and have started two custom builds - an S54 powered E30 full race car and an S62 powered unlimited budget E30 street car. Yes, I'm having fun! |
