I wonder if the factory does certain models on certain weeks. The m3 is a labor intensive build. This would make sense logistically. But of course my info is from the website. My car may be at finished at this point.

Updated with latest info.
It's looking like I have one of the earliest production numbers (363XXXX)... but with what's turning into one of the latest to actually go into production (currently not even scheduled)! Ha ha, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though! |

wow, this is getting serious
"released to carrier and awaiting transport to port of exit"
I guess this is where the tough part is about to begin. I wish they had a camera where you could see your finished car rolling off the line....even a pic or two would be a cool thing. |

Mine's still waiting to be released to the carrier. Argh. Somewhere in the world, my car exists. I want it now.

You and me both.. My car is at the port of exit and I don't take delivery for 53 days .. Stupid boat shipping takes so long... I wish M's were shipped in planes like bugatti's.. I'd have mine by the end of the week if that was the case lol

Do your guys' owners page work (track the vehicle) or are you calling BMW NA to get updates on your vehicles?

The owner's page works for me (2011.75 e90), but the phone system has much more detailed and up to date info. So I check the website and call the automated phone system obsessively multiple times a day (and yes, I know that it is probably only updated once a day, but still ...).

It takes 53 days to get it to NJ? Or does it sit at the port for a few weeks first before leaving?

CA has more info than robot phone lady. Mine was scheduled for PW36 even though robot phone lady said there was no scheduled date. It went into production in PW36 just as my CA said.

My car's chilling at the port waiting to be shipped.
I tried bmwusa.com to track the car a few weeks ago. But have never gotten it to work. I keep getting the same handler error. "Sorry! There was an application error. Please try again later. You may want to go to the Home Page, or the Site Map." I got this error after I entered in my 2012 VIN. Weaksauce.

Info updated!
Hmm, my CAs printout has no date. His inability to get one is something I find a bit disturbing. We're going on 4 weeks since order went in. Going to bug him tomorrow if I don't get any status updates in the morning. |

Wish the system was updated a little better. You'd think that once you had a production number, it would be in the system and more easily watched.

My dealer is one of the biggest in SoCal, I was told I have the first 2012 M3 order, and it was also on BMWs list of top dealers in the US that was put out... with all that and still not having a confirmed allocation is starting to get me worried that something is wrong... I'll be bugging my CA later today to see if he can look into what's going on. You know that you're week 41, so apparently they can set dates in advance. Very weird! I just talked to the phone rep at BMW NA and he said the 800 number pretty much only updates once the car is actually *in* production so that may be why you're not getting any updates. |
