Utterly pissed with Bad News - Production week pushed back even further

What makes me especially cranky is that I could have ordered a few weeks prior if my dealer didn't spend time trying to find a non-DCT/19's person on the list so they could deliver a car in April. Probably would be finishing production or on the boat now.

I was in the same situation but I realize the car will come at one point in time. No point losing sleep over it. That means more time to collect mods for the car when it finally arrive

I was week 16 and got pushed back to 23. Explanation from my dealer: BMW Switzerland had to decide what they wanted to do with their allocation of DCT cars. Instead of delivering the ordered E92s, they decided to use the transmissions for dealer E93 show cars.

I called yesterday, been moved from week 19 to week 18

When I took delivery, dealer told me that orders were really slow up until the first cars starting coming in, then it picked WAY up. CA told me that if you placed an order now, you'd be looking at September or October.

Awww crap! Got the same story from my dealer today and actually faxed me a recent bulletin regarding this "restriction". Sorry can't scan it right now. Specifically, this restriction will be imposed on the 2MT (19" wheels) and 2MK (M-DCT) options.

Looking more like a June/July build for me now

Ordering restriction... according to my dealer, it will actually be blocked from being selected in ordering system for a short period of time until supply catches up. He did say I could change my order to a 6MT version with 18" wheels and it will go into production this month.... but if I wanted that, I would've taken delivery of my originally ordered 6MT car that arrived last month.

that make sense. I remember reading a memo from the Dealship two months ago, saying M-DCT will be a limited production during the month of March and April. I guess the quota ran out. and ppl cant order it until the offical release of MDCT or June/July production ?

CA told me today that "our store has only had 2 orders honored by BMW, yours and one other," whatever that means -- I assume that means that the other orders are being "blocked" for selecting those options.

They need to move me back to at least week 19, though. Sheesh. Gonna be 112 for like 2-3 months.

I feel for ya. Atleast your in status 112 which is better than 111 which I'm in but still scheduled for week 19. Who knows what BMW's logic is? I have come to peace with myself and wll start worrying more at week 18. For all I know I could be pushed back again to week 24. To make myself feel better, I went for a test drive today in the M3 and it was great! Hope the M-DCT is just as fun.

When I was delayed for 5 weeks, I actually moved back to Status 111. I believe Status 112 means production is soon, and since I was delayed for so long, I went back to 111.

I ended up only being delayed about 4 week...car is waiting at the Port now....one week and counting.

MAN I CANT BELIEVE THIS! I called bmw usa and they told me wk 24. I called back because I wasnt sure if she said 24 or 26 wk. The guy then told me 26th wk and that he doesnt know. I call again now and another person says 24th wk and that germany recieved my order on march 26th when I didnt place an order on my car till 6th of april.WTH! I made sure like 3 times that she has 26th I guess thats good for me lol. I pretended it said 19th wk for me and was complaining why was it pushed back for me to 24th wk and she said she just looked into it and it seems like there is a short on the 19 rims so thats another person saying its because of the rims SORRY TO SAY GUYS!

The car was probably originally specced on the 26th and they modified it for you on the 6th.

has anyones week changed again. i have not check this morning but as of the beginning of the week i was still week 24, and i am still status 112. i still can not believe that i placed my order on feb 11 and i have to wait 6 months for this car, if i get pushed back any farther i think i am just going to cancel my order.

I believe they are constantly juggling the production schedule. The date you get is only a estimate. As you get closer to the estimated production date, things start firming up and more often than not, the car goes into production a little earlier than you expect.

you guys need to do what i did to pass the time...

I just bought a 1991 Jeep Wrangler with a hardtop for 2 grand off craigslist this week. It has dirty nasty carpet and a funky dirty console, 250 bucks later I have new carpet and console from Summit, I installed new door rubber gaskets I got online and screwed on a shiny new shift knob. I'm having a blast driving this junk pile around and I haven't even really thought about the M this week.

I know I won't lose any money on this thing and I'll likely make a grand when I sell it.
