What Other Components are a Must to Upgrade when Super Charging?

I want to know from current SC owners what other aspects of the car they believe are crucial to upgrade when doing a SC. Assume middle of the road 575 or 600 kit.

I'm assuming wider rims and tires will help with traction.
Coil-overs or some suspension setup will help keep the car planted under hard acceleration.
A BBK will help stop the car from speeds you wouldn't reach as quickly sans the charger.

All these things will no doubt help, but whats necessary? What does the car fail to do well with the extra power?

I guess I wasn't specific about usage. 90% Street 10% Track.

Most kits are very comprehensive in what they include, but I'd highly suggest going catless or at least HFC.

The stock cats are too restrictive and cause added pressure, this will hinder performance and pose a potential safety/reliability risk

Starting to shop for E9x M3s & superchargers so I'll throw in my $.02. From S/C dynos, the X-pipe is going to be your biggest exhaust upgrade and should be done at a minimum.

If you have money to spend, obviously a full exhaust would expose everything your S/C has to give, but an X-pipe should be the 1st component if you have to buy in pieces

The factory x pipe is actually pretty good, its just the front cats. Suspension depends on your current options, this is an ///M remember, so its not bad. But definitely brakes. Sometimes you have to go slow to be fast. And you have to be able to stop regardless of power now or forthcoming. Just plan on doing routine maintainence a bit earlier

I might look into extra cooling if you track your car as SCs tend to produce heat.

Brakes and suspension are not required for street use. Stock parts should be sufficient.

Stock cats are very restrictive. X-pipe is good for as much as ~40-50hp in boosted situations.

+1 on the oil cooling. These cars even in NA form tend to get hot relatively quick during extended sessions. For the street, it shouldn't matter.

So Stock suspension is fine? Stock Brakes? Should I do pads and lines?

Stock brakes are very good for the street. A pad upgrade would be beneficial.

1. Full Exhaust.
2. Suspension.
3. 4.10 Diff
4. Sticky Tires.
5. BBK.
6. SC.
But you only recently did V3s

For the track, a better oil cooler would be at the top of my list. Second, some sort of charge cooling like meth. I like the early AA water/alcohol injection kits. Just buy iso alcohol and distilled water at Walgreens.

Your going to need wider tires for sure. I'm still shredding 295's euro MDM coding will also be helpful.

Suspension... You would be fine if you have zcp, if not eibachs with edc have been working fine for me.

X pipe would be next, with high flow cats or without cats.

I would disagree with the 4.10 diff. The car will be making enough power that you will zip through first really fast anyways. The higher RPM on the freeway will also be a factor.

If your gonna track it, Oil cooler is a must! I havent tracked mine yet but I've got conflicting reports on the actual "need" for a bbk. Some people are harder on brakes than others. I would suggest a set of race pads first and see if they hold up to your driving style.

Do you guys think the KW Sleeve Kit would suffice as "better suspension"?

At a minimum I'd suggest better brake pads and fluid. Catless x-pipe will get you more power and a good set of tires will help you keep that power down. Tighter suspension components don't really hurt either

LMK if you'd like to take a spin in an ESS car, we have 3-4 at the shop at any given time

If you have EDC, I think so. If you are non-EDC...NO!
