Space grey, black edition tips or not..
Hello guys (and girls), this is my first tread here but i have been checkings this site 3 times a day for a long time now.. I got an m3 space grey coming within about one month! I have been dilling back and forth about mods but have decided to go for the edition grills at the front and the sides. I also find the black tips very tempting but cant decide if it will look baddass or kinda cheap. The akrapovic evolution togheter with the ess tune from my neighbouring country Norway is also very tempting but I find it hard to sacrifire the warranty. But the main question, black tips or not on space grey?
Best wishes from the viking Last edited by Swedish M3ffia; 01-08-2011 at 02:13 PM.. |

Hi there, I too am a newbie to getting around to registering. I have been following the great information and advice that you all share, so thank you.
I would say do it. I did, and I (personally) like it. Not sure if it's baddass as you point out, but it's certainly not cheap. See pics below- if i got my first post right... I also matt blacked the rear section of exhaust to subdue the visibility. These pics were taken before the addition of the ZCP boot spoiler and black M3 badge, which ties in VERY nicely with SG. P.S please excuse the sunroof...that belongs to 'her who must be obeyed' Last edited by NRBRNG; 01-08-2011 at 05:02 PM.. |

The edition black tips would look good on the space gray car, especially with the gills and grills of the same. You will need to have them riveted on the tailpipe though so it is not what you would generally call a DIY mod.
OTOH, would the tips fit on the Akra exhaust? I'm not sure what would look better, the edition tips or the Akra Ti tips. Good luck. Nrbrng, Nice looking car. But that license plate frame would be an excuse for a cop to pull you over in MD since it hides the stickers. Maybe they don't care so much in OR. I wonder how many cops would understand the plates though? Cheers.

You have to drop the exhaust to install those don't you?
I think they look great (I have the ed grills/gills) but there is something about staring at 4 chrome pipes sticking out the back. |

Yep, this is our local Portland circuit. Look forward to seeing you there this year, although ORP is quite the track so I will be shredding my money there again this year! Regards.
