Ugly Brakes?

is there anything we can do to give our brakes a nicer look, more pop?
i am not interested in performance gains, but just curious?
i dont want to spend 7k on brembo's. i liked what slammed did, but seems like a big hassle....

You can pull the calipers off and have them powdercoated or painted. If you simply pull them off of your rotor, take the brake pads out, and paint them, it makes a big difference. I personally like the black.

+1
If you are not a perfectionist, paint it while beeing mounted, saves work (not neccesairy time)

I had mine painted white, and put ///M decals to finish them off. here is the thread:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245337

My body shop covered the entire car to avoid ANY overspray on the car itself. As you can see, it is doable without having to remove the calipers

And here are the pics for the lazy ones:

ALL OF A SUDDEN, the OEM brakes dont look all that bad now..do they?

I think I am going to have my calibors custom painted red. I'm not trying to spend 7k on brakes on a super charger yes but not brakes Painting the calibors will be my next mod for sure come to think of it

Caliper spray red paint: $3.95
Masking plastic sheet leftover from painting my house: $0
Hours of prep/work: 2

People asking if the car came with the brakes painted like that: Priceless

http://www.m3post.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1239656395

Front and back calipers and hubs painted red, so far extremely resistant to heat and BMW wheel cleaner. Paint still shines, and no chips/peeling after 4 weeks of heavy use including a 1500 miles round trip to M School at 74mph average for the whole trip.

No more ugly and stained calipers and hubs...

Of course you can powdercoat them. But that means you have to remove them and completely disassemble them. Not sure if you have the luxury of being without a car for a little while.

the rear caliper is tiny. Would it be possible to install the front caliper and rotor to the rear? That would be much better.
