My two cents...
keep the change

come on!!! nowwww
what does all this have to do with HIS OWN M3?

If you want to show her you're a man - Get the 6MT.

If you want to prove to her you're happy to surrender your testicles, and be ridiculed whenever your wife has her friends over for a cup of tea - Get the DCT.

I bought my wife the car she really wanted first; then I bought my M3; but I'm guessing you never considered that.

Seriously - Just tell her it's your car, you bought it, & she's not driving it. If it's your only car, get her something to drive. End of thread.

She has the car she wanted. A Porsche Cayenne.
I think I figured it out.. I'm gonna tell her it's a rear wheel drive. From our past experience from clk she hates rear wheel drive so I know she won't step foot in it

I guess I view my marriage a bit different than you. The stuff we have is ours. There is no mine and hers, but then again; I actually do plan on having the same wife my entire life. Not an attitude shared by most from what I read around here.

hahahah im with you, but most of us here are not really serious.... specially the title on your thread... WHICH I LIKE very much .... i felt the same way when i bought my car. Although my wife hates driving even if it was a DCT im pretty sure she still wont drive my car...

now if your wife is the other way around. then i say 6MT might be the one for you. HAHAHAHA.....

Just like the same thing with my 328...(Well, I don't have a wife and my car is definitely not anywhere as nice as an m3)

My mom got me a 328i and she has her own cayenne. At first, I was the one driving my 328 and she was driving her cayenne. She started driving my car and I never got to see it. One day, I saw like a 6in. curb rash on my front right wheel. The rear soon followed and my car's chin is pretty messed up. I do admit, I scratched my car's chin once but nothing extreme. Now, I'm tired of even hoping to drive my car.

Since she already read this thread, just get a DCT so she doesn't get disappointed. If you get the 6MT, she might think the you got the 6MT so that she won't touch your m3. Besides, it's not like she'll understand how the DCT works. Oh and if you want her to not drive your car, make the m3 parked inconviniently (like put her cayenne behind your M) so she won't even bother attempting to drive your car. But let her drive it at least once

I've had my car for 3 weeks now and my wife has only driven it once. She is afraid of damaging "my toy". She get's that I really love cars and that this car is on my "bucket list". She can drive it any time she wants. For the most part she doesn't want to. She drove my 545 all the time with no issue, but she is far more sensitive about this car since she knows how long I've wanted one.

She gave me an M3 die cast model a couple of years ago for Christmas. She thought she was being funny. Shortly after that I put the car on the floor in the middle of the garage after I left for work to drop a hint that the car model was too small. My kids had a good laugh when they were leaving for school that morning.

I opted for the 6MT because it is what *we*; my wife and I, agreed on. She can't drive a manual and has no desire to learn, however if she could, I'd trust her with my car over anyone else.

We both have an affinity for anything with four wheels, and she is as much OCD as I am when it comes to our toys (Read; does not park near other vehicles, no food or drinks in the cars, tries not to sit on the bolsters when getting in and out, does not touch the paint work, and so on).

Attached is a pic of our two E90s taken on an afternoon drive together.

OP, buy what you want. Another thought: let her drive it once. If she wants more, she has to get her own. Sounds like she can afford it!

Hmm..... marital bliss. My husband didn't care much about cars when we first met, but now I got him hooked, hehe.

I'll be getting a DCT. However, next up will be a car he wants and it will be manual. And we gonna shaaaare.....
