Chris, thanks for all the info.

Chris,
Can we get a list of pads that are available for the AP kit?

Anyone use Pagid RS 4-2-1 Black, or Pagid RS 4-2 Blue on their AP BBK for street and track use???

How about Ferodo DS2500? I used the Ferodo DS2500 in the past for both street and track with great results when I ran Brembos.

Both front and rear kits use pad shapes that have been around for a very long time. Below is what I have notes on as far as pads go in alphabetical order. There are undoubtedly more.

-- Front --
AP Racing H100 Hybrid, C200, C300 (new compounds coming soon)
Carbotech (order D51 depth, not D54) 1521, AX6, XP8, XP10, XP12, XP16
CL (Carbon Lorraine) RC8
Cobalt XR1, XR2, XR3, XR4, XR5, CSR, ER1, ER2
Ferodo DS2500, DS3000, DS1.11, DS2.11
Hawk HPS, HP Plus, Perf. Ceramic, DTC-30, DTC-60, DTC-70
Mintex Xtreme Motorsport (F3R track compound should be available soon)
Pagid RS4-2-1, RS4-2, RS 14, RS 5, RS 19, RS 29
Performance Friction 97, 01, 05, 07
Porterfield R4-S, R41
Raybestos ST41, ST43, ST44, ST45, ST47

-- Rear --
AP Racing H100 Hybrid, C200, C300 (new compounds coming soon)
Carbotech (order D55 depth) 1521, AX6, XP8, XP10, XP12, XP16
CL (Carbon Lorraine) RC8
Cobalt XR1, XR2, XR3, XR4, XR5, CSR, ER1, ER2
Ferodo DS2500, DS3000, DS1.11, DS2.11
Hawk HPS, HP Plus, Perf. Ceramic, DTC-30, DTC-60
Mintex Xtreme Motorsport, F6R (F3R track compound should be available soon)
Pagid RS4-2-1, RS4-2, RS 14, RS 5, RS 19, RS 29
Performance Friction 97, 01, 05, 07
Porterfield R4-S, R41
Raybestos ST41, ST43, ST44, ST45, ST47

I will add to this list as I get more confirmations (and as time allows!). Remember, not all pads are stocked by all distributors at all times. The popular ones get more love whether any one person likes them better or not. Plan ahead for track days in case they need to be ordered so you don't get caught out.

Note: Pad availability does not constitute an endorsement. Discuss pad selection with professionals who understand your driving style and the tracks you will be driving on.

Chris

Chris,
Any word if the PFC Z-Rated pads are available? I searched the internet, but could not find anything.

I will probably use PFC 01s for track use, but still looking at my options.

When I did my research, I found the PFC 7790 pad shape fits the AP Racing front CP5555 caliper. I couldn't find a rear that fit, although Chris might know of one. If you look at the BMW Motorsport catalogs, they commonly match a PFC-01 at the front with a Pagid compound at the rear.

I think I might actually go with the PFC97. I wish they made the PFC06 for the AP kit. PFC01s might have too much torque for my skill level.

I used 01's on my last car and loved them. Easy to modulate. The tricky bit is finding a rear pad that matches well enough that you get good balance. If you're running 01's in the front you want a rear pad that produces the same torque but at a lower temperature. The rear doesn't work as hard.

Are these the same as the AP-F40x series in the UK?

The local distributor here says no, but I have a voice mail into PFC to see if they may have something that hasn't made the catalog yet.

Not necessarily, but information is still sketchy on these. Both series are made by several of the top companies out there with some tweaking to AP's preferences. The F40x series is being specified by AP Racing engineers and the other has strong input from US-based track specialists. I am looking forward to more test data on all of these to see where these stack up against other popular pads.

Chris, we are vendor for AP Racing and even as a vendor, we really appreciate the wealth of information that you have shared with us. This is really helpful.

Also, we did confirm fitment of the AP Racing 368mm kit on the 18" TE37, RE30, G2 and the new TE37 SL

After much searching. I think I have decided on Pagid Yellow RS29s for track use.
I'll report on the AP Kit and the pads after my track date at Road Atlanta.

Hey Julius, have you had any customers put on the 18" G2s yet?

Curious why you feel the need to change the pads. One of the reasons I chose this kit was JAJ's review and how happy he was with the pads that come with the kit both on the street and the track. I have had 3 track days on these so far and couldn't be happier.

Im going to Road Atlanta, its a very fast track and hard on brakes.
Don't want to take any chances, plus its very warm and humid in the south in the summer.

Based on what I have experienced so far with 2 track days with tons of time on track, I think you would be pleasantly surprised with your current pads.

Let us know your feed back if you do fit though.

STOP! You're making me blush.... OK, no one would really buy that one!

Thanks for the wheel fit confirmations, Julius. I'll add them to my notes.
