One easy way to fix passenger issues is to let them drive.

a. It's never easy being the passenger, esp. if you're used to being in control. For the same reason you hate not being in the driver's seat is the same reason they're all weird in the passenger seat.

b. These cars are stupid quick and it's hard to explain until your passenger gets in the driver's seat and realizes that you're going 50% faster than you thought you were, and the car is still asleep.

It was how I got the BMW bug years and years ago, driving my friend's dad's E34 525i in 1991. Up until I drove that car for the first time, I was still under the false impression that all cars were the same. After that I was not the same person and understood why BMWs were different.

Everybody tells me I drive too slow. I'm usually right at the speed limit or slightly below. I take merges and on ramps pretty quick though.

I have a tendency to go driving at 1 AM when the roads are empty. That's when I really like to open it up.

When my passengers say, "I drive too fast", I really think they mean, "I accelerate too fast". Lol.

They do seem to get a little scared when I hit a corner a little too fast.

I usually drive faster when I'm by myself. I definitely drive slower when I'm talking and not concentrated on getting anywhere quick....and with some people I try to drive nice and smooth.

Also when I'm talking or otherwise occupied, I find it harder to watch out for cops.

I guess the thing that bothers me is my definition of fast is waaaay different than average joe's definition of fast. While some might take an empty 1/2 mile exit ramp with sweepers at 40mph, I see no reason not to do 60-70. I'm gonna start driving 1/10th for a while with my wife in the car and see how long she takes to say go faster.
+1. I got popped before getting my lasers back on the m3 going 80 in a 45 basically a long straight away... It wasn't like weaving just going in a straight line lmao, I totally agree I think cell phone/burger drivers weaving are way worse than a capable car going within the cars highly capable limits.

It's nothing to brag about. I got myself into a lot of trouble! All ill say is that it was a very very early morning run on an empty road in what was my 997 GT3. The cop was nice enough to let me go with a summons to appear in court and not arrest me.

Is this why you wanted to buy an M3 to "lay low" for a while? haha.

It was a good idea until you added 160hp!

I used to get that. NOw it's "you are getting too close to that car" "watch out for that car" "you are not paying attention" never ending battle.
