sounds like you are making smart decisions. dont get into the trap of throwing parts at your car without a plan of how they work together.

Lots of track day options coming up. I know there are HPDE, Racing and/or Time Trials at ORP, PIR and the Ridge. Where are you going to be? If possible I would like to get a half day of testing in Friday at PIR then Time Trial at ORP Saturday. (the bump steer rods from bimmerworld created a problem with the front suspension geometry.... we have custom fabricated a solution. Plus I have a new side exit exhaust to try out)

I'm at the ridge this weekend both days, then don't have any others planned. Work issues so don't know how to plan yet. Syoptechs shipping this friday so will have those to install next week.

had an interesting 2 days at the track. got up early to head to the track 2 hrs away. in my first 2 laps got black flagged for blowing smoke due to a big oil leak of unknown origin. came off tried to figure it out. nothing. got the builder to come pick me up with trailer and take it to portland another 2 hrs away the from my house. worked on it all evening and found it to be a freeze plug below the vanos that came out. forgot the part about getting pulled over by state patrol for putting up a smokescreen trying to limp it towards portland. so anyways get it fixed at 8 saturday and drive back to the track and stay at the casino where i not being able to sleep gamble most of the night. after 4 hrs of sleep i go to the track and proceed to spin the car bigger than shit about hitting a turn station in the process while still on street tires. then the rest of the day once on nt01s went amazing. ended up demolishing my previous lap times at that track with my e90.

Yeah eddie told me about all that mayhem. Your car looks good. Hadn't seen it with the new rear aero, livery, and wheels. Really like the side exhaust.

Thanks! I look forward hearing the new exhaust full throttle and under load........I just hope I don't get black flagged for sound!

Wow! Last year I went for a bunch of track days and there were very few incidents. This year, almost every other trackday I hear of some car or the other getting demolished.. what is up with that!?

Well.......all these things happened at 3 different tracks. Two were at a full blown race, another at a Time Trial. I think I just know more people now compared to a few years ago so I hear it though the grapevine.

thats what i was thinking also. i hear about wrecks all the time thru others as opposed to just witnessing them.

So I am hoping to attend HOD at PIR Sept 10th, Porsche Train at ORP Sept 16th, and HOD at The Ridge Sept 23. I might have to leave one out because of work but will try for all.
I got to say that last time out with Turn2 at the Ridge was a good time. I really like the open passing with point anywhere on the track. Only thing better is not requiring a point. Funny story: I head out the first session. There is a Miata up ahead of me. Fast as heck in a straight line (turns out it had a big turbo)......faster than a heavily modified E92 M3 and faster than my E46 M3 race car!!!!! But not in the corners. So I catch him and he thinks he is on Par with me. Doesn’t give me the point for 3 laps......so I am getting a little frustrated at this point. Finally he is convinced (I won't say how). Points me by and half lap later he is 150 yards behind me on the straight. Funny that this story involves a Miata as it is typically a GT3 RS, Ferrari or GTR. Miata kill story =
Anyway, I am liking the open passing format with Turn2, NASA Time Trial or any open passing day.

Seventh day was all that she wrote for my NT-01s. I changed them out at home this AM, and the insides of the fronts are corded. I definitely need to get my alignment looked into again. So, I guess that's it for me for 2013 track season.

Nicolas and I had an awesome time at the Ridge with a few other members that came down from Vancouver. Odd that there were were fr more GT3's & GT3-RS than M3s. Prob outnumbered 2 or 3 to one.

I ran with Porsche Train a few weeks ago at ORP. Good group of guys with open passing anywhere with point. At one point there were 4 to 5 Porsches nose to tail......they were having a great time but would not point the two faster BMW by. Most were highly modified.... one even had a 65K 4.0 motor. I was able to run a 1:52.7 but there is more in the driver and car.

Haven't run with NASA or at PIR before so was thinking of getting an instructor day 1 and go solo day 2. I'm B group with BMWCCA and B with T2, so thinking HPDE 1/2 on day 1, and maybe HPDE 3 if they let me on day 2. The site says you need a prior HPDE 3 Sunday but I'm hoping it will be a smaller run group and maybe they'll let me in if I do well day 1
