lost of potential.?

I think the 5.0 lost me last week - every 40+ woman around here is driving one. It's turning into a really fast chick's car, I know my fiance wants a cute white mustang.

imo, base/GT model has always been a "chick car" since the 1999 model year. Who gives a crap if woman drive it. It still has all the male following you can possibly have in America.

Haha sounds like the Mustang is a chick magnet!!! Unlike the M3 is a dude magnet.

Go test drive one, then see how well you like it. I can't imagine what people who compalin about the power bulge on the M3 say when they test drive a Mustang. All you can see out of that tiny windshield is hood.

It is not like Rolls we're driving here.. It is a 3 series BMW.

Mustangs have always kept up with M3's. Even back in 1996-1999 when the all the M3 had was a 240hp I6 (US). The SVT Cobras were packing 305-320hp and in a straight line would demolish the E36 M3. Fast forward to 2001 and the Mustang SVT's with 320hp kept right up with the E46 M3 and go on to 2003+ the SVT Mustangs were always quicker than the M3. Now on a road course the edge went to the M3 and the newer S197 Mustangs handle pretty nicely and rounded up the package.

5'10"

Maybe I'm prone to exaggerate because I have two fairly small cars, but I just did not enjoy driving the Mustang. I really like the engine in there, it's fast as hell with lots of torque on tap. I just wish the engine came in a different package.

The new GT 5.0 is definitely something Ford can be proud of. If Ford could charge north of 60k for it, I'm sure they could improve the interior and such. I bet they are a couple of MYs away from going head to head with the Europeans. Transatlantic automotive competition can only mean one thing: better cars!! And you can't argue with that...

The 2014 Mustang will address this. The interiors are going to get even better the next run of Mustangs along hopefully the ditching of the live axle.

the drivetrain in the only thing going for the Mustang. My rental car for the past 10 days was a 2011 mustang, I was very disapointed with the interior, ergonomics and exterior looks from side and rear. It gets better fuel economy and is cheaper than the M3 but, I would choose a used M3 over a brand new Mustang, any day of the week.
Everyone needs to go out and drive the mustang, once most people do that, it is an easy decision.

Not only that, most rental car companies buy the cheapest Mustang out there without the premium interior trim. The interior in these cars in premium trim is not that bad.

Exactly the same as my experience. I agree.
