Were you the guy at California Speedway back in March running the ROVAL? I passed a white M3 numerous times in our run group. Guy got pissed that thought my car was modded, and wanted to check my tech sheet lol??? Maybe it was you, maybe it wasnt. Car looks familiar. I remember the guy talked about his car being "corner balanced" and superior. He was sliding all over the place over driving it.

Everyone drives what they enjoy. I used to have an aerial atom. Enjoyed the piss out of it. Yes, I love the GT-R's awd. Never noticed the electronics since I turn them off at the track. Next you'll say you would never enjoy driving an Audi R18 etron or a formula one car because of all the electronic nannies as well. Its a sign of the times.

Dude. This statement is outrageously hilarous. WEAK DRIVER! WEAK CAR!! WEAK WEAK WEAK. I AM SUPERIOR I DO AS I PLEASE! ROAR

Sorry, I got a vision of you just belittling everyone in your sight when i read this. And while I really like your posts, this is the one that goes on the fridge.

BTW, I am in the process of writing a book (no joke) about Driving 101. It's alot of sattire mixed in with good tips for new, old, and mid-level drivers. It's meant as humor. But you should PM me as if you have any good ideas I'd love for you to contribute and i'll happily give you credit.

ANYWAY, doing 140 with other cars around in any place other than a desolate highway is so freaking dumb it shouldn't even have to be explained.
But you:
  • a) did it on an on-ramp so presumably there were no cars you could hit, and
  • b) you were test driving and probably did not realize the speed at which you were going until you looked down.

Sounds like it's the same monster machine that all others have testified. I am itching to experience one! Thanks for sharing!

Pulled the trigger on a 2013 GT-R today. I guess I am canceling my order for the M3. I know I will own another M3 someday but it's time to experience the blistering performance that has become a legend. Looking forward to chatting more with everyone on one of the greatest cars ever made - the BMW M3.

Thanks man! I enjoyed my 2010 M3 for two years and just feel that getting into another one for $75K doesn't quite make sense if I can experience much better performance for just $20K or so more. Yes, I achieved the near-impossible by getting a GT-R under invoice when almost everyone is paying MSRP or over. Cheers!

Nope. I've only been to the 3 tracks in Northern California. I have no problem with other cars passing me. In fact, I was passed today by a Civic Si race car. Nothing but respect for faster drivers in slower cars.

That's exactly why I went with GTR - I don't want to get the M3 and still fantasizing about the GTR then find myself 20k in the hole. GTR hold value way better than M3.

lol there's a HUGE difference between the OP post and larthal. OP still did a stupid thing, but it was a result of a lack of experience with how quickly the GTR gets to speed. larthal's is just an idiot. in fact, he probably exemplifies the population of ignorance and stupidity within America.

it's just awesome that i've been able to witness it and verify that there are people that stupid within different ranks of society.

back to the topic, the GTR is nuts, and it's hell of a parts bin car. as someone else mentioned, the styling doesn't agree with me though.

Wasnt meant to be rude by my post. Read it back and noticed it. There are lots of white m3's at the track. I have the video on my gopro. The guy was supposed to wave me by then decided to include the middle finger in his wave by. lol

OP! CONGRATS!!!!! Driving the GT-R always makes me wish BMW would make an incredible super car on its level. I really wish they would!

Congrats. Welcome to the club. Back when I was younger I used to work at Sears selling big screen TVs. Whenever a customer would attempt to decide between a smaller and bigger size I would always tell them this.

"If you go with the bigger one, you will never wonder how the smaller one would have looked like. But if you go with the smaller TV you will always wonder how the bigger one would have been."

It seems that you have applied this to your car purchase. Enjoy the car in good health.

We came from a GT-R back into the BMW fold when we needed four doors for the baby... it is a beast for sure but I'm actually quite happy being back in an M3 as the GT-R does have it's short comings. Speed and handling not being one of them...

I set up the current scenario by keeping my 2008 E90 for this very reason. GT-R is going to be my big boy toy.

GTR is an absolute animal, driving my M3 tends to be boring at times both cars

are great, but between them I prefer the GTR

You are very lucky to have both! For daily driver I really enjoy my 135i with its low end torque and smaller, more nimble feel.
