I'm pretty sure someone will come out with an adapter for backward compatibility.

Dogbone - thanks for the interesting and helpful info. I will be at VIR next week and will take some vids with my HLT and post results. Thanks to the update, I should be able to keep data and vids together, and I will experiment a little with iphone placement.

Attended the Chin Motor Sport event at VIR this week, and very very hot. Track became a little slippery late in the day, but did manage to get a lap in with HLT late Tuesday afternoon. This one is from the phone stuck on the front windshield. I have another from the mid of the car which I will post when I have time tomorrow.

^^ What are we watching? Why does the video get wavy, and why isn't it in hi-def? It looks like you pointed a non-Hi-def video camera at a tv screen playing the video......not sure what we're seeing.

Wow, do not know why it reproduced with that video quality. Hard data out of the phone is good, as is the download to my computer. Reflection off the hood, and the phone holder are visible in the phone video, so I guess in various transmission, it did not transfer all the well.

Video reinstated - I hope.
This is a test to determine the reception of GPS with the phone located on a tri pod in the rear center of the car. At VIR, this seems to be acceptable.
Only half of lap due to the checker coming at Oak Tree.
vz

ps Note, the tri pod is a much more stable way to secure the iphone, which in turn, provides much better quality. Next time I will move it more behind the passenger seat side to avoid the rear view mirror restricting view.

This is something I also do at HPDEs unless someone forces me to put it down. I'm sure driving with the visor down is somewhat safer than driving with it up, but at least I've got a bit more cover than the folks who use open face helmets.

This was a bit of a in joke. VZ coached me at VIR and suggested that I have my visor down...and then subsequently reminded me from my NJMP vids. So I was surprised to see his up in the films...

Yep you caught me, but I do have an excuse. I dropped my helmet just before getting into the car just prior to this run, and it cracked my visor vertically right through the middle. But not to fear, I now have a new visor. Seems as though I was snake bit this event.

Anyone know how to automatically decline/avoid getting calls or text while using HLT on track?

Buy another iphone, load HLT, but do not tell anyone your new tel nbr. That reminds me, someone posted a Youtube vid and while recording at the track, his wife called and he took the call using the M3 car tel system. Funny.

Anyone know where I can pick up an emprum ultimate locally in New York City?

(Have upcoming track days, going to get HLT, shipping to Canada takes too long and will be in NYC next week for a bit)

Thanks!

If you are using the latest version, 16.0.3, then click on one of the laps from the session you want to export. Then click export and select session at the top of the screen. Then mail or Dropbox

When an app needs to use the GPS, it will re-activate the GPS portion, all other antenna stay off.
