So far I've tracked, auto-x'd and drifted in it. Maybe some rally cross next? Lol.
Seriously, there is not way you can safely explore the limits of this car on the streets. This REALLY is easy to drive and will continue to reward skill as you grow. I'll admit that I'm mostly backwards. I take my non-M E46 to the track and the M3 is normally the garage queen. Unless my E46 is broken which has been very often lately.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Yes.
It's the only money maker they have left. The fate of the other facilities (hotel, conference center, etc.) hasn't been decided yet.

Seriously, I think it would be pretty quick especially with the DCT. I imagine that the shifting advantage would be huge. Although I wouldn't really feel comfortable doing a burnout in the box before the run. I'd be scared the rear tires would catch and launch me. At least I can disengage the clutch in a manual.

Saw 14 days this past year.
Love the E90 - easily fits my 4 track tires. M3 is more capable than me however I am learning.....

A little follow up, I've now been to the track 3 days so far this year with plans for 2-3 more days before winter. The M3 isn't perfect on track in stock form, but wow what an experience. Staying above 5k rpms for lap after lap is just incredible and not something that is even remotely possible on the street. I have a long way to go learning to master its abilities, but I definitely look forward to it.
