Best Drag Technique with Steptronic 335i

I was wondering if anyone had some pointers as to how I can achieve the best drag time with this setup? If anyone has a similar setup to mine (JB3/PROcede) please let me know.

Some people told me I should step on the brake and gas pedal to launch the car. Any ideas on that?

^ yes thats called brake boosting and it helps out alot especially with the steptronic. I also have the dinan stg2 by brake boosting to about 2k-2,500 rpms I have gotten a 1.84 60' on regular street tires and my 1/4 mile time was a 12.80@109.78.

make sure to turn the traction control completly off and warm the tires a little bit brake boost and let her rip....

real simple...just like he said above...warm the tires up..torque brake it to about 2500 and ease into it when the green comes down so as not to spin and throttle down once you get tractionand when I say ease into it I dont mean granny it but dont stomp it either..practice this a few times to get the best blend so you dont spin the tires too much..a little spin is ok..you just dont want a lot and smoke and all that..thats when your not going anywhere

Perfect explanation. This BMW tech (my buddy) told me that this really F**ks up the transmission. Is there a certain amount of time I should be holding down the gas and brake at the same time? Or should I wait seconds before the light turns green to step on the gas?

It's a BMW, not an American drag car.

I eat Camero SS for breakfast, lunch and dinner.....

you can also try putting it in M1 mode and let it shift when it hits rev limiter....

watch the gas pedal, because as soon as you hit rev limit the car will shift instead of waiting to catch tracktion in first... but iam trying this theory out later today to see if there is a way to force the car to stay in first gear for a bit....

My friend actually told me last week about another guy around my way who has a brand new leased M3 and dropped the clutch at 5k. My friend said somthing about his whole rear end or read axle dropped from the car. He also said that its only 4 bushings or bolts that hold that piece together.

1) Put it in Neutral
2) Rev really hard (up to 6k)
3) Slap it into D
4) Win.

This is exactly the kind of thing that happens. Don't get me wrong I'm all about testing the limits and having fun with your car, just be smart about it. Usually it's not worth the outcome/wear and tear on your car.

If it's numbers and proof you want, I'd much rather do a Dyno. (safer AND potentially less expensive)

Can't go from neutral to D when the car is not in motion. How about this, try it on ur car first, send me a video of it and then you let me know how it goes.
