launch control problem

had my service at 1200 and now on about 1550 miles. Have tried launch control but no joy.

m mode
dsc off
select s6
hold lever forward

chequered flag comes up

then you are meant to fully push gas pedal so that it holds at 4k rpm but mine is just free revving and dont want to go all the way to the floor and bounce off the limiter.

what am i doing wrong. Sorry if this is a bit of sh*t question but if i can sort it out this way its better than taking it to dealer and them revving it to the max.

IIRC, you can also adjust the rev limit by pushing or pulling the Cruise stalk. You might have adjusted yours up higher than normal. Just remember to keep your foot to floor the entire time or you will disengage the program. Have fun!

If you got the flag before flooring it and it revs past 5500 it is a bug. Hopefully the new DCT software update will take care of it. Get it done and let us know.

Ok guys thanks for the responses, i have the car booked in for software so hopefully this will fix it. The car does go past 5500 so maybe you're right and yes it is after the flag comes up.

it should stop at 5500 unless you set it different with the cruise control stalk.....but mine WILL NOT engage launch control in M mode...you have to be in normal mode....

A while back a guy posted a couple videos of him launching his M. . .I searched and couldnt find it. . .anyone remember what his username was?
