All around, the M3 is a better car than the Cayman S, and on the track they're neck and neck. "All around" as in, space, comfort, amenities, etc. R8 I know nothing about, except it looks awesome, is overpriced, and the performance numbers are pretty bad for the cost, but if used they're relatively equal in price then go for it. What about a GT-R? Those are cheaper than an R8 brand new, and the performance numbers are amazing.
GTR was something i thought about but after talking with some friends who own some here they advised me against it.. service costs here are through the roof! and it has to be serviced every 5000km's or they void your warranty

another thing that really turned me off the GTR was the interior quality.. its just.. meh.. imo( maybe because i'm so used to german cars.

Im going R8 shopping on saturday! here are my exterior color options:

1. grey
2. black
3. white

in dubai the above colors come with the red or tan interior( both which i love).

what do you guys think? which would you go for?

I'll post some pics of the candidates come sunday morning

cheers all

COMPLETELY agree on the interior quality, I'm surprised they used Nissan interior and didn't go for Infiniti quality at least? It's kind of the same reason that Corvette's are a turnoff for me, the interior quality is basically that of a Chevy Malibu.

Well, if you don't need rear seats or any real luggage space I'd agree the R8 would be the way to go.

I'd go with the R8 on this one too. I'd also suggest you get a black one and put a supercharger on it unless you can afford the V10.

I would say that the interior of my GT-R is pretty close to the Infiniti cars I've been in and definitely a step above the Corvettes I've seen. I think the interior of the Nissan just looks a bit boring because of all the black plastic. The actual controls have a good feel to them save for the audio and climate control knobs on the '09 through '11 GT-Rs. Also, the leather stitching on parts of the dash add a nice though.

The interior in the 2012 has some nice upgrades that might make you like it better. Nissan added real carbon fiber to the center stack and replaced the metallic sliver trim with a darker metallic trim. Also, the knobs have been upgraded and definitely look better even though I still think they feel a little cheap. It definitely looks better than my first GT-R and I like it better than the '09 Carrera S I had. My Carrera didn't have full leather which would have made it a nicer place to be. Maybe I just have a thing for Japanese interior styling as my favorite interior out of all the cars I've owned is still the IS-F.

M3 becouse it's faster than R8,has the edge at high speeds
Has better Nürburgring lap time (well, alittle bit)
And invest this difference in price R8 vs m3 in to m3

Out of the 3 cars you have I would say the R8. But if its affordable I would take a 997 S over your 3 choices.

Do it! Looks great man, definitely go for it and I'd like to congratulate you on being on lucky guy that'll own this beauty! The cars must be stupid expensive in Dubai right? I bet this thing is around $500,000 USD. Nonetheless you will be a lot more happier with this than the M3 or the Cayman S.

By FAR the R8...

Easily the best looking of all and that engine sounds amazing with an aftermarket exhaust.

Hey there fellow enthusiasts,

I know this ia M3 Vs forum but the last time i posted on these forums i got an overwhelming amount of support and non biased opinions when i wanted to upgrade from a Cayman S to a R8 V8, and I really appreciated the honestly! at the end of the day were all sport cars lovers

So im here again as Ive gotten the Itch to switch out from the R8 to a .....991 GT3.

Now I know the information on this car is still scarce, but my porsche dealer here has told me around 450 to 460 HP, PDK, 0 to 100km in around 3.9 seconds if not less.

They are already taking down deposits for it and he advises to put mine down if i want to get a slot of the first batch of cars that will be coming to Dubai.

He is predicting they will be available in dubai around this time next year( 6 months to build and ship) and i will be able to place my order in around 6 months.

what do you guys think? would you guys jump ship from the R8 to the 991 GT3? would you rather get the V10 facelift or should i wait and se what the new M4 will look like/performance numbers be?

gonna link some early photos of what this bad boy might look like.

I'd look into a 997 GT3 or if you can even an RS, that EPS on the 991 is killing me.

um, +1681681681688 for gt3 over the r8. especially the black one in the quoted pics, holy crap.

though the r8 is still one of the best damn looking cars ever made, i live in socal and see multiple daily and still manage to break my neck looking at them every time.
