Actually, MCS, most domestic cars are white in Korea.
but you can say 99% of the foreign cars such as BMW, mercedez,
lexus are silver.
out of about 30-40 e90s I saw in Korea, 99% were silver, and I saw
one white. Oh, and my e90 is a white

I think people avoid white foreign cars because most domestic cars
such as hyundais and kias are white.

It is my understanding that the White car is more of a Japanese thing.
Lumping all of Asia together is like saying that all of Europe thinks and acts like the French.

Any chance that the OP may have confused Japanese with Asian? Everything that he mentioned are true for Japanese but not for the rest of Asia.

For example white car is the most unpopular color in China because "white car" literally means ambulance in Chinese. To say someone is in a white car in Chinese means that person is going to die soon.

Is the hospitals in China that bad? From what you are saying, people go in but don't come out. What color are the hearses?

The private hospitals are actually very good as long as you've the money As for the public one they're free so most people wouldn't complain much...

It's just that in general white is associated with funeral in most part of Asia, with the exception of Japan. Hence why white car isn't a popular choice.

Thanks for the insight, it may help me keep the in-laws from getting into my car. Maybe I should look into a black or white e91 wagon!

That's real interesting, but if someone from Japan were to photograph an American funeral procession, they would assume that everyone drives black cars.

It is also worth mentioning that in Chinese movies, the villians wear white, and the good guys always wear black. In Japan, Ninjas wear black. Maybe white car owners want to be bad boys?!
