How to tell if I have a tune?

I just bought an E90 M3 from a BMW dealership. I realized after the fact that the car had been 'coded', as holding lock button on remote folds in mirrors, and a couple other tweaks). Car also has an Active Autowerke intake, and RDsport lowering springs. Judging by the mods to the car, I wouldn't doubt it previous owner had it tuned as well. Question is, how could I tell if it had a tune? I don't want to take it back to a dealer for them to charge $250 (or whatever it is) to hook up a cable. Any other ways of finding this out?

The reason I ask is that I wouldn't want to pay for another aftermarket tune if the car already has one loaded...

Contact bpmsport.com Mike can help you figure it out.
Pretty sure if the rpm limiter and speed limiter was not touched you cant always believe the dealer. If it was flashed back to stock before turn in not sure you would ever be able to find it.

Look underneath the car, and if you see primary cats, the car probably doesn't have a tune.

The dealer won't be able to tell you.. Only a tuner would be able to.

Look for tell tale signs, like the cold start being off, no CEL even when catless, etc..

If you PM your VIN # I can check to see if we've ever tuned it. Congrats on the new ride
