Do you usually take Topanga ? or Kanan? Topanga has so much traffic these days it's unsafe to drive spirited :/

Kanan is wide and great, except there are so many cops...

But yeah, I hear you on cruising on PCH. I love opening the top and taking my girl there for a cruise. Weather is beautiful 70s there versus the 100 in the valley...

I take Topanga, but at 6:00 a.m. there is NO traffic, and on PCH, at that hour there are but only a few cars, mostly guys and gals going surfing. I come back on Kanan, and yes, plenty of Cops, but I cruise back, so no problem with that.

Well for me, doing something that may result in a ticket can be defined as reckless.

Making a decently hard left on a yellow arrow can get you a reckless driving ticket

0600 to 0800 is the best time to do a Canyon Run to the beach. For instance, on Sundays I can do a Canyon Run and then get back to Woodland Hills for Supercar Sunday.

Feels good man. When you get good at it, you start realize that doing 95+ just to do 95+ is kind of "meh"..

On a track however...get that foot to the floor, son!

So that begs the question... If you're driving fast and no one is there to see it, are you really driving fast? LOL

People who have nice sports cars are usually older, and thus more mature and have a lot more to lose in life if they end up causing a big accident.

It is incredibly douchey when people in any kind of car (especially showy ones) drive obnoxiously fast in areas highly populated with pedestrians. My old office building was at the end of Rodeo Dr. and I can't begin to describe how many times I've seen the SAME local morons hauling ass up and down this 15-25 mph street. And for what....to show off to a gaggle of tourists from Kenosha WI to Spain?

Not to say I don't do my fair share of speeding...usually on the highway when I've got open road with no distractions or chp.

Wow...truer words can not be spoken. When I was in my teens and twenties, I did some crazy stuff. Stupid crazy (although I have some good stories under my belt for beer night with the guys). I don't risk that kind of stuff now not because it wasn't fun, but because of the responsibilities I have towards my wife and kids and position in my career.

When the road is open and dry however, I still cut it lose from time to time. In shorter spurts, however. As a lifetime car enthusiast, I do drive faster than the average Joe, and have learned how to do it more properly and more safely, I believe. Still, there is always an element of risk. That, I suppose, is part of the appeal too.

Agree with this post 100%. Fast isn't going 120 on the highway, fast is going from 140 to 60 through some esses.

Indeed. That's the assumption I usually make.

It's just that once you've driven at track speeds and situations, the road is not satisfying anymore such that you just don't bother speeding. My mind will always be on the track!
