I'll kick off the thread. Unfortunately, not many pictures yet as I didn't have time to drive nor take enough pictures of her today.

Compared to our Monaco Blue 335i Coupe:

p.s. I will add more pictures of the Azurite when I get a chance to photograph her in the sun, and under different lighting conditions. In short, it is very similar to Carbon Black, except the blue pigments are more sparkly. And the color can change from dark blue to black to dark blue again, even under the sunlight.

Examples of the fluctuations under sunlight (from the 'net):

Black:

Blue:

The sparkle in the blue:

Also, will post pics of the interior after I detail it (asked the dealership not to detail the interior, as I wanted to do it myself)

Initial impressions:

OMG, I am in LOVE!!! She is PERFECT!!!

I am having a hard time keeping it below 5500 rpm
Julie, it's been tough in the 2 months since I sold my e92 but your car makes it worse. Azurite is the perfect colour for the car. I'm hoping to get back into a sports car next summer and an azurite car will be top of the list (although I'm sure hard to find).
Good luck and have fun with it

I may well be color blind, but Azurite seems to look almost identical to my Jerez Black. Am I close or way off base?

Either way, it looks great.

Doesn't Azurite have red and blue flecks in it? Somewhat like Cosmos Black from the E46? Or am I mistaking it with Ruby Black (which has primarily all red flecks).

It has a blue hue to it in some light.

You may not be able to tell between Azurite and JB in the shade. There is definitely more blue metallic flakes in Azurite. And in the sunlight, wow, the color is gorgeous!

I saw one yesterday, looked gorgeous!

I was thinking of getting a Mineral White, but too many white ones unfortunately. I didn't want my car to be confused with another white M3

Thanks Azurite90M! The pictures of your car helped me and I would like to pay it forward by creating a thread for that color shortly. Btw, in case you didn't know, your thread also inspired another soon-to-be class of 2013 member - Koop!

Yup, as Azurite90M said. It's close but not the same. Azurite has these sparkly pigments in it.

You know how Jerez Black and Jet Black wouldn't look the same under showroom/sun-light? I would say there would be a similar degree of difference with Azurite. The 'tone' is not quite the same either. Jerez definitely has blue but it also has a bit of lilac in its composition, so that mixture gives it a perhaps a little bit more of a blue-violet tone. A special and unique mixture in itself.

EDIT: Here is a pic of the sparkles that is well captured:

That's awesome! Another Azurite member - Koop! Looking forward to seeing the very few Azurites on the forum.

Yes indeed! Inbound shortly...counting the days at this point.

So glad to see more Azurite around here! Can't wait to add some photos to the mix.

1400 km - AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1200 miles = 2000 km, so a little less than 400 miles to go!

Thank you . I guess patience does pay off.
Back in 2008, I was going to buy an E90 M3, jzb w/ fox red-no nav, 18" wheels, and no enhanced sound. That deal was awful. It was one of those Balloon type of payments.
Then said to myself, I'll just wait 'til I finish nursing school. After finishing school, and getting a job, a deal breaker comes along that I couldn't pass.

Well picked her up Tuesday night and wow people we're a staring at her. The silverstone was so much better in person. We went to eat after the delivery with my dad who picked us up from airport and parked at far end of parking lot but still checked on it like 4x. And yesterday did road trip from Nh to Brockville Ontario and wow what a great car. 360 mile trip and got 22.1mpg on the trip of highway and 2lane country roads. Call me crazy but it sounded better as trip went on. Little noisy at start up but from what the forums say its normal. I'm excited and will post pics when I figure out how lol
