What's your oil consumption like?

Just curious how much oil people are using. My 335 never really burned any oil at all, but the last time I drove my M3 I noticed that every 400km or so the oil level drops a noticeable amount on the gauge, so it's burning a fair bit which was expected. Is this about average, or high/low?

On a side note, there seems to be a residue of oil spray/reside on the rear bumper after a drive which I'm guessing is from the exhaust, kind of a pain with the white exterior.

Very common with high compression and high revving engines.

That said, I haven't noticed any consumption at all with the factory fill of oil based on the electronic guage in the dash for the first 1200 miles. The dealer just did the 1200 mile oil change today so we'll see if there's any consumption from here on.

Completely normal. I went on a spirited drive a couple days ago and it was obvious my oil dropped more then other cars would

Just turned 10000kms 8200 kms since 2000km service

.5 litre

That included 1 trackday.

I plan to do an oil change at about 12-13000 kms.
