DME update - recommended!
I had my local BMW guy update my 2011 e90 DME to the latest software. I believe this is 240E. I've noticed, immediately, a couple of differences - cold start is not as loud and clattery as it was previously and it quickly settles down. Most prominently, however, is that drivability in normal mode is better. The car seems to pull a little more urgently in the lower revs than previously. Generally, the car seems smoother, yet with a greater sense of torque.
This is not scientific, of course, and I don't have any objective data. That said, I'm pretty happy with the update. I was charged one hour shop rate to get it done, but I would say the difference is worth what ends up being the cost of an air filter. |

That sucks! I love BMW cars but I cant stand their service standards! All updates IMO should be included for the life of the car.
