As far as TX2K, there are *way* too many high HP cars running in Houston that week, and you never know what you're going to roll against. Given that, in a stock M5/M6, you'll be surprised at what can hand you your ass if you're in town for that event *lol*. That's why I always take my VehiCROSS, a lot less temptation

ran into a measily old viper GTST one night. Needless to say my 950whp on race gas looked like i was standing still

Yeah, which is why after the blower goes on the M3, I'm looking for a MKIV to start building. The fact that a TT Aventador showed up, along w/3 stock Aventadors, + all the TT Gallardos and Mullet's s/c'ed, NOS'ed, TT Ford GT (yes, you read that right) were trolling the streets, yeah, you have to go big or go home *lol*. There were a couple 1K+ HP Supras that fared pretty well, one of them took down Mullet's Ford, and last year a Supra got SW's TT Lambo, although the race could have been better.

mullets shop was insane. there were 16TT lambos there when i was there friday night. Saw the TT aventador make a pull sat night. fucking insanity

I had the chance to race a new M6 in my stock GTR not too long ago. I pulled on him without much of a problem in my 2012 GTR 530bhp. The footage isn't that great but it does show me pulling on the M6 from a 50 mph roll.

I am all for having some one when conditions permit, but there is way too much traffic in that vid for you guys to be messing around like that.

It hasn't been referred to as "The Superbowl of street racing" for nothing

Been going for the past 10 years or so I remember when it used to be the annual Supra meet *lol*. That has changed quite a bit. I saw no fewer than about 2 dozen GTRs @ Hennessey, and the Supra numbers have dwindled quite a bit over the years, especially as Supra owners transitioned to the GTR.

In street hierarchy, the built MKIVs used to be king. Even when the GTRs came out, the built Supras were still at the top of the food chain. However, when UGR started cranking out TT Lambos, there was a passing of the torch *lol*. There are still some anomalies, such as when Seafish took down SW's TT Lambo, but those are few and far between. And there are quite a few built GTRs nowadays that can give the MKIV a run for the $, albeit, not on the very top end, and some of these runs see that (a stock MKIV 6MT Getrag tranny can run over 250mph).

Agreed - very dumb IMO. I used to "race" sometimes like that but now I really need a clear stretch. Just don't know how some people react to situations. It takes one wrong move on their part and you (and others) are focked. I don't mind running against people granted its an open stretch, preferably late night and preferably on familiar highways.

No offense but it looked like a half ass race anyway. Can't even run properly in that environment.

Agreed on both counts. I don't usually do runs like this anymore. For the reasons mentioned above, we only got the 2 crappy races. This was a chance encounter and I don't know the owner of the M6. He wanted to go again but I no longer wanted to run. What I do know is that I pulled on him without much of an issue. He even got the jump on the first race.

there were 40 something GTRs at the friday night GTR meet. Was insane to see. Cant wait for next year. I should be around 1100ish WHP on pump gas

Great vids.
I hear, on viperalley, supraforums and other forums about the trash talk, usually theyll end up at a 2k event.

But when i saw the video about the beat down with the M6 on here and then all the trash talk about the GTR I was thinking, "HUH???"

Some that post on here are SORELY mistaken (Which is why i also question alot of gustavs BMW videos also--i prefer the Moscow Unlim 500 vids).

Anyways, I personally have never seen a BMW dominate at ANY of the 2k meets in all the years of its existence, or supra meets for that matter. And its true about the Supras being the top of the hill for a long time (in fact thats what got me interested in events like that) so when i come here and see all of this talk about the M6...i raise my eyebrow and start considering waving the BS flag.


Bottom line, you have to bring your "A" game to an event like this and leave you ego at home. Because youll be embarrassed quickly realizing your car isnt as great as you thought it was. There IS a world outside of BMWs...

In the events you've seen, no S/C M3s trying to shut down those other cars? I've seen them do pretty well in other informal drag videos it seems. Curious on what you've seen them do in those drag events you mentioned.

gtrs and supras were both in the 8s at 160+

i dont think there is a superchagred M3 anywhere near those times

The M3 isn't the platform for that game. It's a small-displacement, high revving, fairly heavy yet balanced RWD car. Those that push their M3's know its place...and it's not at the top of the acceleration game...but it can be at the top of the track game when modded properly (i.e. keeping engine fairly stock and focusing on suspension, brakes, weight reduction, chassis stiffening, etc).

The best of the BMW's is (in terms of acceleration) are the turbo e30's. I'd like to see a 1,500 AWHP e30 325xi weighing 2,200 lbs.
