Question is iDrive upgradeable?

i was wondering if 2008 M3s iDrive software can be upgraded to 2009 new iDrive? is it something that BMW would do to upgrade 2008? and last, would the coupe M3s get get the new iDrive or is it a 4 door facelift only?

i believe nothing is impossible if you know longtran lol.... i wonder the same. this might require new parts as to the knob/controller, the center piece, software updates. that's assuming all the wirings and chipset inside is the same

don't think that one is true...but i could be wrong.

retrofit will undoubtedly be possible with the right amount of money, but i think that it will be very very expensive.

The current version is certainly not. Only the very first iteration was in the 7-series, and that was horrible.

Where do I start...?

----The interface is bad.
Takes too much work to go from one menu to the other.
If your trying to chose a song that starts with a "Z" have fun scrolling through all ur songs or going through the artist if you dont have it on a playlist.
It just looks ugly overall(color, design)
Sluggish(especially on start up)
I personally don't like the double hump
Difficult to use compared to say Lexus' system

Many more but I dont have the time to type them all out
