European Auto Tinting or Malcolm's Tinting are two decent shops for clear bra in Edmonton....... I have used both in the past.
If he is looking for the best job available in Alberta he should have the car done by Thompson Graphics in Calgary. Go to Thompson Graphics website http://www.thompsongraphics.com/ and look at some of the photos of his work, I know you will be convinced. |

Well , I am glad for the improvements. Along with the r compounds they help with cornering speed at the track although I can't say they really do much for street manners. So I suppose it depends what you want the change for.
The replacement of the thrust rod bushings with the bearings I think had a greater effect on steering and feel. |

I noticed a big traction improvement on adding stg 1 with the rear arms so I think the further changes will enhance things.
I will not be getting R cmpd but will be changing tires for next year to some PS2 or Conti rubber The Nitto Invo are good but I want a softer compound for more bite |

So I just got back in from a day spent out lapping in my M3 at Stratotech Park (Ft. Sask) and I have got to say...FUN!! The event was put on by Edmonton BMW and ran by Jay Pringle (Calgary). The morning consisted of stopping and basic corners and line defining exercises while the afternoon was dedicated to hot lapping and learning smooth braking/shifting/lines.
The turn out was not as good as they had expected but we had 14 cars including my E92, 2 E93's, a M6 convertible, a pair of Z4M's and some 335/330/328's. It was by far the most fun I have ever had on the road (I won't say in a car ) and I would recommend the experience to anyone. Just wanted to share. |

Seems to me the biggest problem is getting the word out to other drivers
I am not an Edm BMW supporter so I would never know or be invited. I'll just say the service dept needs to improve 200% to keep up to Millwoods Honda Bavaria blows them away in service and customer support and follow up. That was my most recent experience anyhow. |

Hey Guys,
Modern Autobody here in town are now an official reseller for SWISSVAX product. If you need any products talk to Derek there. The guy has a wealth of info on detailing too. Friggin forgot more that I even know and I am a total detailing geek. |

hi guys !
it looks like the new 1M is now avalaible in Edmonton i'll post a pic tomorrow, but i've seen this 1er yesterday with the M logo and a license plate "KNTRISR" or something along those lines... i almost asked the guy if it was in fact the new 1M, haha !! also, more serious question, is there a good performance shop in town that any of you guys get engine work done at, or troubleshooting? i dont trust the Mistu dealers (+ they sh** bricks everytime they see the tiniest aftermarket part) and i don't really trust a "generic" shop (that specializes in oil changes on domestic trucks )to look at it either... I dealt with Powersource Performance in the west end before for an "easy" radar detector hardwire job, they seem good... anything closer to Whyte / south side? Thanks, Pat PS: i just got an OBDII scan tool, if someone needs it... |

I don't know whether Eurasia( 91 St and ~58 Ave) 439-666 will do work on Japanese cars but I take my M3 & X5 there for any work. The people there are very competent with Europeon Cars. I have had Top Tech( on 125 Ave and 124 street) 452-6477 do work on my honda and they are very competent; and reasonably priced.

Called Eurasia today, they'll look at it Thursday... $ 117 / hr is their rate, does that seem steep? at the same time, if they do good work and i dont have to double guess their work like i would pretty much anywhere else (ESPECIALLY the Mitsu dealers), it's worth a few extra pennies i guess... (nvm, the last invoice from the Mistu dealer who ruined my engine was $ 110 / hr...) so $ 7 / hr for my peace of mind, i'm OK with that...
it sounds like i have an exhaust leak... i'm almost debating about running with the leak for a few more weeks and get headers installed, haha... BTW, here is the first ever 1M in Edmonton !!! (sorry bud if you're on this board, or if there is indeed a M-package of some sort for the 1er, i couldnt resist...) Last edited by frenchM3dreamer; 10-05-2010 at 12:51 PM.. |

i had my first "experience" with Eurasia yesterday / today.
they are really good to deal with, really professional (they dont look at you like a giant walking-wallet like dealerships do...) and overall, great experience... they phoned me twice to make sure i knew what to expect for charges, even asked me to come over to confirm what i thought the problem was (weird engine noise)... there was an Aston there, Bentley, Porsche GT2/3(?), race-ready by the sound of it, few BMWs (including an older E30)... you know the saying "you get what you pay for.." well in this case, not really... it didnt cost me anymore than it would have at the dealer, but the service i received was 10,000 times better !!! i'll go back for sure when it comes time to do my brakes and headers in a few months... Good to hear you were treated well
Bodes well for long term Euro car owners Not sure if I'll ever get rid of my M3 I just dont see a better car ever being made, with 4 doors and under $100k I should add. The M5 will be a beast but too big, M6, awesome but I cannot justify the expected $$$ Ive had my car for 2 years now and it has been nothing but fantastic. DD every day winter and summer and all I wish is that I had more power and the ZCP for better traction control options. Power corrupts you though so more is just me being greedy and the ZCP is me driving again too hard, at times... Last edited by sparkyg; 10-09-2010 at 09:30 AM.. |
